Reviewing the Bertucci DX3, a Base Level Field Watch

I had great hopes for this watch when I ordered it. An American company, an Italian name, and an inexpensive price. Was I pleased or disappointed? Maybe a little of both, I guess.
Honestly, I think the more pricey models will better reflect the “ultimate field watch” claim, but I’ll let you decide. Maybe I’ll be able to get my hands on one of those in the near future.

Love these watches. Such a great beater field watch. I like how the crystal is recessed lower than the bezel height, for protection. Their straps are THE best!

I’m about to order my 2nd Bertucci. The A-2S I had put through the wringer. Welding, machining, wrenching. Constant thrashing and covered in cutting oils. Never skipped a beat, until the crown came loose and backed out. Went swimming and water got inside. Dead. I absolutely love the solid lug design. I’ve had a Timex and the push button lume wears the battery down super quick. I had a Seiko5 lasted about 2yrs. I know now to check the crown from time to time on my next Bertucci. Thought about the plastic version but I liked the weight of the stainless version. I use an ADPT USA made strap. I like how simple yet attractive the face is. I dig the absence of the date. Pound for pound Timex is the better watch. They use Swiss super lume so they can get 'Swiss' on the dial.

If anything, at least with this model, the Timex feels more substantial.

Nothing against Timex but I don’t agree. The steel Bertuccis have the weight you like so pass on the resin and titanium models. Everyone’s lume is crap. It just is. It’s oversold and failed technology. Better strategy is to select watch with simply great readability - period.
