G'day Guys,
Bluetti have recently released their EB3A model portable power station in Australia and they sent me one to review along with their 120W portable solar panel.
The EB3A is the entry level system in the Bluetti range providing 600W of 240V pure sine wave energy and 268W of lithium battery capacity.
Watch the video to see what it will power on your next road trip.
Cheers
Steve

The other thing you might mention is that it does not require an external charging brick to charge. Very handy not having to carry around another piece of equipment. Also, here in the States right now 7/3/24 Walmart has this unit for $198USD so about $295AUD.

Thanks for the review of the EB3A but it does resemble the performance of the River which has been released months back.

I've watched a lot of reviews on this model. Nobody runs any music systems. Looking forward to testing this model with a couple of Sonos Play1's and a sub.

get any b300 / b300s / b230 and a eb3a car charger and they will effectively work as expansion batteries (if you get the b230 you will need the D050S to charge it via solar)

Hello and thankyou for this review. Im a solo traveller and I heard you mention it won't boil a kettle? So no kettles or small plug in george foreman type grill or small rice cooker? Im a layman when it comes to these things so it doesn't make sense to me that it can run a small car fridge but not a kettle or small appliance? Not talking microwaves but toasters etc. Thankyou in advance for your advice 😊

Hi Sage, unfortunately devices like kettles, toasters, grills etc. that get very hot use a lot of power for a short time, often over 2000 watts. Way too much for the EB3A. Whereas a small fridge uses a small amount continuously. You'll need to go a for a larger system with more power or stick to a gas stove and old school kettle.

@@ExpeditionAustralia thankyou so much for your reply I really appreciate it. I have a small gas stove so I'll stick to that for all cooking and coffees. I saw a youtuber plug a small george foreman grill into a bluetti so it must have been the eb55 or something... i couldn't see the exact model but it was still a small bluetti. They did also have a jackery brand power station so maybe they used that. Again thankyou for your help 😊

Sorry... just to clarify... i can use an appliance if it uses 600w or less? Thankyou and sorry for all the questions 😊😊
@ExpeditionAustralia
@ExpeditionAustralia Жыл бұрын
Yep that's right. The EB3A should be fine with appliances up to 600W but keep in mind that appliances using that much power will drain the battery pretty quickly. You may be better to step up to a larger capacity unit that can run higher powered devices and has more battery capacity to last longer. Better to go too big than too small.

@@ExpeditionAustralia thankyou so so much. And snap... im currently researching the eb55 and eb70. Would you say a 12v food warmer or 12v appliance could be used safely instead? Or does it still depend on the wattage of the particular 12v appliance? I'll stop with the 1001 questions now haha Thanks for your patience 😊😊😊

Can you run a 700w microwave? If so how much power it would use for a 5min run.
@ExpeditionAustralia
@ExpeditionAustralia Жыл бұрын
No it only has 600w ac output so not enough for a microwave. You’ll need to get a unit with more output.

I recently purchased a 700 watt microwave. I was surprised to find it actually consumed nearly 1200 watts not 700 as expected. Confirm this with your own research 🧐
