I recently purchased an Arlo Pro 2, 4-camera system and was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional audio quality of these cameras. After watching various KZbin reviews that complained about the poor camera audio, I have NOT found this to be the case at all. I suspect Netgear has made firmware upgrades to correct the earlier audio issues. Consequently, I'm quite satisfied with the video quality and audio quality of my Arlo cameras. Also, I purchased my 4-camera Arlo Pro 2 system for $439.99 on Amazon.

Alternatively, buy a few 4k dashcams and hardwire them to a 12v car battery or 12v supply. It’s easy to suction mount the camera inside a window and they also do motion detection.

One thing to mention that I never hear in Eufy reviews is the camera weight makes mounting very important. It won’t mount well on drywall or stucco even with the inserts . It really needs to be into wood or brick or a custom baking mount made .

Hi I’m John from Italy I’m a big fan of your channel. I have a topic you can try that no one had done on KZbin. Here in Europe it is quite common for thieves to avoid detection in alarms (for wireless application’s) by using frequency jammers . I was wondering how this applies to the security camera world. My hypothesis is that wifi based systems would succumb to the interference and non record anything to the cloud or base station (as in the case of the Eufycam) leaving only the reolink Eco or argus to record to se this crating a safer system even though there is the risk of it being stolen. Would you be able to do a video to see which systems could better protect under this type of cyber attack. Thanks for all the great videos… love your channel. John

Since this is hypothetical and all and since we bring in different countries and even landmasses and all, let's go to the US for a while and pick the right state at that.. There you respond by using the notification to be alerted and once alerted you pick up your own close combat weapon of choice and a much more accurate one at that, then you use your superior training and you simple blast them thugs out of the picture. Catch the drift.., out of the picture?

There is a lot to like about this camera......BUT...........The big problem with this camera is that LiPo batteries typically don't last more than 3 years...especially if they are subject to weather extremes....So if you can't remove the battery then what????? you just throw the camera away...this is a HUGE NEGATIVE and a deal KILLER for me. And NO sending the camera back to Anker so they can charge you a big fat fee to replace the battery is NOT a viable solution ...don't even think about it.. What were they thinking?!?! SMH!

Steve, Another good review of Arlo Pro vs Eufecam. Like your in depth analysis and side by side comparisons of the 2 cameras. Keep up the good work. Want to ask you questions on my recent purchase from Amazon: Arlo Pro 2 add on camera. Using it on an existing Arlo base station. Notice every so often either on live feed or playback viewing, the picture is blurry either half or full picture. Also switching from small to full view playback and vise versa, the picture turns completely black. Have to stop the camera n turn on again to resolve problem. Please provide possible suggestions to resolve the problems. Thanks!

You probably already know this but you can set up your own ftp server in windows using iis. All my video goes to my computer and is only limited by the size of your hard drive. 1 terabyte drive holds a lot of video. Cheers

I'm impressed with the system but I'm a little concerned that the Eufy battery is not replaceable. Li-ion batteries have a limited life so I guess the camera is thrown away when the battery dies. Do Anker have anything to say about the expected life of the battery/camera?

Using my Arlo Pro 2 I notice that when watching a live video on a computer (logged in via browser) that the video stops at about 5 - 8 min later. Does the Eufy allow continuous video monitoring, because the Arlo does not? I believe that is a restriction they put on it when accessing it through their base station. I do not have a paid plan. In other words if I left the video playing like you did on the computer behind you using the Fire Stick would it continue to do so until I turned it off myself or would it stop after a few minutes. I want a system that one could monitor 24/7 if need be physically sitting in front of a set of monitors.

So I have a quick question I've been watching all of your videos I need outdoor security cameras to be able to watch my kids in the swimming pool when I need to come inside I currently have blink and it only stays on for a few minutes live stream and other errors that I don't like. Is there a camera that you can recommend for live you while I am inside cooking dinner and still be able to see on video my kids swimming? I also had Arlo Pro 3 and it just took forever to load to be able to watch the kids outside swimming.

Great job! My main hangup on the Eufy is range. I’m afraid that if it can’t see cameras both in the front, back, and sides of my 3,000 sq. ft. house, then it’s a deal breaker since you can’t bridge it or have it connect to some sort of signal booster. The Arlo seems to win on that point.

Excellent review of the product and its features. I just wish you had tested the performance of the system as far as lag time goes. I have an Arlo system, and you can run up to the front door and snatch a package and leave before the cameras start recording. At best, you will end up with a recording of the back of a person's head. Do the eufyCam cameras perform any better? How soon to they begin recording after sensing motion? Maybe you can do another video showing camera sensitivity and time-to-record ability? Thanks!

I have yet to hear from anyone, about the total length of time the cameras will record at one instance. I kind of heard the Eufy seems to do only up to 1 minute of video recording at one instance. My personal experience with the 3 days I’ve had the Arlo Pro 2, it continues to record until a few seconds after the motion stops. I have a few clips that are more than 5 minutes per instance.

Good observation. I just took a look at the clips and eufy records at 15fps and Arlo is 24fps.

The battery is rechargeable. I believe Eufy says you can get about 30 recharges out of a battery. I have my camera in a high traffic area so it only lasted 9 months. I’m still really impressed with that. I fully recharged it about 3 months ago and looking at it now the battery is only down 1 bar.

The other comment I wanted to leave was the price of the 2 companies compared above. This EUFYCAM E, I've never even heard of, but i took the link you left and it brought me to Amazon $300.00!!! Holy cow. The Arlo Pro 2 is on sale at the company we all hate in America, Walmart for $99.99. I understand quality is the most important, but the price is too. At this point, Im certainly not getting either one. BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD!

The only thing that I didn't like is that you can't take out the battery. If this is so then you are stuck without security while the camera is charging. I have an Arlo system and it has served me well but I must say this system does seem better in many ways.

Arlo has both free cloud storage and ability to plug into the base an external hard drive of whatever amount of storage you want. Eufy only allows a limited amount of local storage.

In almost every aspect the Eufy's beat the Arlo's. But the non-replaceable battery is a non-starter for me. Early battery failures, which there always are, will make for an expensive entire-camera replacement. Put a replaceable battery in it and I'll buy 8 of them right now to replace my wired cam system.

A major flaw with these is the app. You cannot have the app installed on multiple devices to the same system and have them synced together or allow multiple push notifications. Unless there is online storage that can be accessed by "users", this system is not 100%, more like 70%. The Arlo can do this with FREE online storage up to 7 days and 5 cameras.

Now that you bring it up I had 2 instances of not recording audio at all. I brought that up with the rep who said it was a known issue they were working on. They must have fixed because I haven’t seen it in the last few weeks. I didn’t have auto night vision disabled so I don’t think my issues were related to that.

On the Eufy cam, If someone breaks in and steals the base station with the SD card would the theft be recorded on my phone? I like the quality and features of the camera but that thought came to mind if the criminal tries to defeat the camera.

up to a couple of days. Depends on Telephone and/or Email storage size....but there is NO WAY to set these limits . If you are away for 3 weeks (holidays), then a theft on the 4th day wont help. Secure and/or hide the EUFY main unit (and your router) in the house behind a heavily locked door. Also, cutting electricity = end of data transfer. YOu are obliged to seal the electricity board (combined with eufy and router) in yr house behind a theft proof door.

Did i? The battery says that it will last up to 1 year before needing to be recharged. Since i can't take the battery out i can't actually confirm if plugging it directly into power will keep it up and running but other cameras like Arlo and Blink can work with direct power and no battery. I'd assume Eufy might work the same but it would be best to contact their customer service about this. If you do let us know what the answer is.

When the eufyCam camera is out of power, you can connect it with the Homebase to recharge it. The battery in eufyCam can last for 300 times of the charging cycle, which means 300 times from 0% to 100% and then to 0%. This is enough to last for more than 5 years of normal product use. Hope this information helps.

Also if the battery ever needs replacing do you know if that is possible? thanks! I am looking at the other version which says battery lasts 180 days. Is that the only difference? Amazon says to me in the link for the E that the 180 day version is newer

Odd review. The image quality comparison they look identical in every way, how can you say Eufy looked better?? You said the colors are more vibrant in Eufy, but the side by side image showed Arlo with higher colors.... The audio for Arlo is excellent. But for some reason the comparison videos you showed you didn't have any sound/talking like you did for the Eufy. Also, that night shot you can tell the Eufy has the brightness all the way up, while the Arlo is not. You can go higher with Arlo and get the exact same quality. Was all this done on purpose to make Eufy look better? You don't have to store to the cloud with Arlo, can attach an external HDD to the station. And you never mention Arlo's recording actually start before reaction.

It's not disposable because you can recharge it. Adopting your theory most current mobile phones are disposable because they are sealed.....

I currently have ARLO Pro 2, but HATE the proprietary base stations/camera connections, i paid so much for this setup and yet i cannot even get into the base station or the wifi cameras.. all recordings must go to the cloud before i can see them. and I want wifi battery cameras i can add to my OWN 3rd party VMS system like zoneminder, bluecherry, ISpy, etc.. using ONVIF or RTSP that i can store my video on MY own server and equipment. but still use a app or web interface to view when im home or away.
