Can you record TV?

I'm looking at the back of the tv that shows a round connector hole for the optical digital out. Something is wrong here because it should be kinda square. I don't have any round optical digital wires. Any thoughts please.

I have no clue about any of this. Would'nt it be better to plug in straight to the switch from the at&t modem/router instead of going through the mesh and plug the mesh into one of the switch ports ?. I do not know if there is a reason, just curious.

These cameras suck. I bought a pair of them for $400 something at Home Depot about two years ago. The batterie's would die after after one day and night. I bought the long permanent charger cables, drilled hole into my house, and plugged them in. They never did keep them charged. I have not tried the hard wire type nest camera's. Both of the camera's that I have been commenting about are not working anymore. I bought them less than two year's ago.
