While rethinking his 72 hour kit, Rusty decides to give the Pathfinder nesting cup and lid a shot.
The concept of a stainless steel nesting cup isn't new, but this one has a few clever tweaks. Now, we only gave it one test and didn't try to abuse it, but overall, we're impressed. Good job, Pathfinder team.

What do you use for your water bottle kit / cook kit?

I just ordered the pathfinder gen 3 bottle bag. I’m hoping it accommodates the firebox Nano with x-case, trangia alcohol burner, fire steel, lighter and spork. I suppose I’m hoping there is still some space for hot chocolate and coffee. Nice review. Thanks!

Heavy cover titanium canteen. Its pricey, but lightweight and hypoallergenic/non-corrosive.

I keep an Emberlit FireAnt Stove in the Pouch on my Condor Bottle Bag. No need to carry fuel, but the stove will also accommodate an alcohol stove or solid fuel tabs. The pouch also has room for a Sawyer Mini, fork and spoon, ferro rod with tinder, collapsable bellows, and a small toothbrush. 😎 Mumma Bear’s bottle kit has a tea ball, which I think is an excellent idea.

@@3vil3lvis /Never saw the need nor had any reason to spend the extra money on titanium in the first place plus like you said its pricey and i don't think the inflated cost for a lighter weight is worth it.

Been using the PF bottle and cup for years. Actually have a few of them. The MSR french press fits the cup perfectly so I drilled the lid and now have the french press option. Never use the spreader I just set the cup on coals and more than anything boil in the bottle. Good kit for sure. I use the condor bag with two add on max pouches. Had some old video on the E2E website back in the day on all of it.

@@Equip2Endure survival gear and Tents. Are there any new tents worth getting? Like the snugpaks from so long ago! Does Adam still work with E2E? When I came home from the Army. I was struggling through transition and with PTSD. Adams videos gave me something to attach myself to. He helped me get geared up and go camping and feel comfortable with my fears. It's hard to explain but the channels time was just right that I honestly think Adam saved my life. Thank you E2E

I have various setups. Today's was .. * A Pot converted from a SS Sugar Container that had been relegated by the wife to the garage. * SS Cup with folding handles. Cost me Chf 6.00 at Decathlon. * Plastic recycled 800ml Soft Drink Bottle (I have SS Kleen Kanteen versions thereof). * Alcohol Burner made from a discarded 200ml Energy Drink Can .. only one needed (on Mondays, there are many to choose from down at the local park before the cleaners get there). * Folding Tripod made from old SS Bicycle Spokes. * Windscreen made from discarded soft drink cans .. the 450ml size (Mondays at the local park 😏). * Aluminium Pot Gripper. * Titanium Spork. * Bag sewn up in a jiffy by the Wife .. a piece of PU-treated heavy duty tight-weave cotton. Easy peas. Works well and cost me more in leisure time than money to put together.

They also have a 60 oz bottle , 48 oz cup built like the set u have . The new french press will nest with the 60 oz bottle, , the gen 3 pathfinder bottle bag will carry all the bigger bottle and cup , alcohol stove they have too . I don't know if the 32 oz bushpot will nest in bag too yet

Good solid piece of kit there. And the Condor Bottle Pouch is as good as any of them. The Emberlit FireAnt Stove will fit in that pocket and doesn’t need fuel canisters. I’m a fan of twig stoves and the FireAnt is my favorite.

Yep. Sometimes it's nice to have a real fire. Sometimes it's nice to have the no fuss no muss controlled burn of a fuel canister and stove. This works for both. -Rusty

I have a few water bottle kits I carry, I also prefer the 40 oz bottle from Kleen Kanteen. I have put a couple medium sized molle pouches on my kit, so I can carry a fairly decent hiking grab and go. I also have the 64 oz Pathfinder bottle/pot/bag kit, and have a couple of larger molle pouches on it. the 64 oz kit is my main cook kit for my son and I when we do day trips. the added 24 ounces of water there make it so I can cook for 2, plus have a bit more for hot beverages. I was very glad to see a nesting pot for a 64 oz kit. I put my own kit for a 64 oz Kleen Kanteen together a few years ag with a stainless pot I found, and an old WW II Polish artillery accessory pouch ( did a video on that one) but that pouch predated molle, so it was a bit jury rigged. the 64 pathfinder kit has a 48 ounce nesting pot. ( this was the coffee cup I needed when I was in the ARMY)

Is pathfinder school still having there products manufactured in China?
@Horde334
@Horde334 2 жыл бұрын
Yup and you can't do much about it these days due to alot of materials, manufacturing , and labor is what keeps prices from sky rocking cause if this canteen were to be made in the u.s or anywhere else it'd be well over 100$ or even more so now you have the problem of if you want it affordable and made of steel then you need to outsource. Now if you want it made of steel and not made in china you can't have your cake and eat it too cause you can't keep the price down while making it outside of china plain and simple. Good example of if you don't want something made in china that's made of titanium 2 companies that i know of that use titanium are Evernew and Soto and guess what you'll pay 20-30$ more for titanium sourced in japan want stainless steel 10-20$ more the cheapest stuff they have is aluminum hard anodized. Another example Zebra brand stainless steel billy pots made in thailand nearly 40$ just for the pot and thats a big 2 liter pot that takes up a lot of space in some peoples pack. Welcome to manufacturing where you can complain all you will about where something is made but then realize its pretty expensive setting everything up.
@210gaz210

@@Horde334 I no Zebra is made in Thailand, i have meny of there products, you are missing my point, If i wanted to buy produce manufactured in a country that is activly resurching Bio weopens that had a little bit of a woopsy leak that will in the future when perfected be used on are grand children. well excuse me if i dont want to pay said country of manufacture my money ! I live in the UK long time ally of the US and if i want to purchase a US product i would expect it to be made by US workes, it is not just Pathfinder School it is Snugpak in the UK, If i wanted to give my money to the CCCP i would buy ONETIGRIS P.s I am not a socialist

It is and has been a global economy for many many years now people just need to get over it. yes it’s too bad American companies are having everything done in other countries but it’s all about the buck! and as far as some of those countries actions and weapons use it’s not the people of those countries fault they’re trying to make products for the world and make a living. just saying !!thanks

That is some bad planning, Rusty. Why didn`t you check over what you would need for the video, before you made the video? You are not inspiring a lot of confidence to your viewers. In this video you start out " Unequip to Endure", by forgetting to bring a most important item, the fuel canister, which makes the 72 hour kit, almost dead weight.
@Equip2Endure
@Equip2Endure 2 жыл бұрын
Fair enough. But I would argue that it actually worked out better because it better showcased the strengths of this product. A stove is pretty easy to control. Many people in the bushcraft community seem to be allergic to them and prefer campfires. -Rusty
@stillwater62
@stillwater62 2 жыл бұрын
@@Equip2Endure I guess in that case you need to add a folding saw, a small camp axe, and a good fire starting kit with that 72 hour kit, just in case. I do like your videos, very informative, well made, and enjoyable to watch. Thanks for making them.
