Haha yeah I don't really know what I was thinking, it was a pretty spur of the moment decision to do this so maybe I wasn't really thinking! I just hope people get on ok with the format. Man it means a lot to hear that, especially coming from you! It might be a while until I've read 10 more books but if you think 10 is a good number I'll definitely see if I can stick to it! Hopefully there will always be quite a varied range since that's also how I like to read. I'd love to hear your thoughts about any of these that you end up checking out!

@@ComicBound I just love 10 quick reviews as I’ve never heard of anyone doing it before so I think stick to it even if there are long gaps in between. I’m all done with Astonishing X-men too so we have to make some plans to talk about it soon.

It really is gorgeous, I've never seen artwork quite like it! There's something pretty magical feeling about it. If you wanted to read Scurry and you don't mind reading digitally, it's all available to read for free on the Scurry website. Or if it's something you really have to have physically, you can still get a bundle of the hardcovers on the Scurry website, and they have been reduced slightly from $105 to $95. They don't come in the slipcase I have but you'd be paying a lot less than I did... however I'm not sure if what the postage would be like to get them over to you from the US. Hey thanks for watching! :) I totally agree, although my camera and lighting setup isn't great for showing off the art in all its glory so rather than showing the actual pages in the books as I'm holding them, I think what I'll try and do is edit in some pictures after filming, so that the artwork doesn't suffer and you can get a clearer look at it. You're not the only one that has suggested showing the interiors, it seems like a no-brainer now but I think I was too focused on trying to make sure my reviews made sense that I wasn't really thinking about that! I will definitely correct it in future videos though :) Thanks so much for taking the time to leave your feedback, I really appreciate it!

Also like I keep mentioning, it's great to read comics like Doctor Strange every now and again, because it makes me appreciate just how hard it can be to create some of the masterpieces and upper tier comics. I'm actually glad I read it! Plus... it's not as bad as Witchblade (2018) :P ... which I'm sure will be getting a mention the next time I do a video like this! Great idea for a video series! I was thinking of doing the same thing as well for books for which I don't have time to commit a full review. I tried reading Court of Owls years ago, but your review makes me want to give it a second chance. I didn't know the Absolute The Killing Joke had 2 versions of coloring - interesting what you said about the coloring giving you a different experience. Makes perfect sense to me! Finally, I understand what you're saying about Sheets. I enjoyed it though; it's a great palate cleanser (not being demeaning).

And for taking the time to leave a comment :) It's interesting you didn't get on with the Court of Owls previously, you should totally give it another go! :P Sometimes things don't click right away, and there are times when I'm really glad I've given something a second chance when I'm in a different mood. I'd love to hear if you get on better a second time! And yeah it's super interesting when things get recoloured, I feel like colour work is often overlooked in comics, especially when it has such a dramatic impact on the overall experience. And I love smaller indie type books like Sheets for the exact same reason, they are great palate cleansers between longer reads for sure! I don't think it's demeaning to say that, I am so thankful to have books like these available. To me they really represent the how beautifully diverse the medium can be, it's not all long runs of superheroics! Take care, and thanks again for stopping by! :D

Court of owls is one of THE best batman storylines ever in my opinion..!! Scurry looks interesting so might have to look that up..I've had Deadly class deluxe vol 1 for some time but haven't got round to reading it yet..still trying to get vol 2 which is so elusive..!! Nice format you've got here as it gives some of us a chance to see what else is out there..keep it up..!!

And yeah Scurry was excellent, even if you don't click with the story as much as I did I think you've got a great chance of at least appreciating how gorgeous the artwork is. I'm definitely considering doing 5 rather than 10 for the next one, but I'm thinking it might depend on exactly what the next 5 or 10 books are that I've read by that point. And yeah I definitely agree I should probably take the time to give people a better look at the artwork. It's just a bit awkward with the lighting and my setup, but I think maybe I'll try and edit it in afterwards so that the artwork doesn't suffer. And I actually never even considered affiliate links! I mean some of them I'm not too surprised you've not read because they aren't that mainstream (e.g. Scurry), and some of them I'd definitely recommend you don't read (Doctor Strange! :P).
