@@JustWasted3HoursHere I am sure that it's C++, the whole editor is made just for demo live coding, the fft functions are all integrated. The program is called "Bonzomatic", you can find it on github.

Most likely just mashing together chunks of effects they've written before to create something new. I'm sure LJ has written that spiral ray-marching quite a few times, as well as procedural tiling structures. So it's mostly a matter of adjusting values and meshing concepts you know to result in something you've not made before. An emergent design.

You can look out for GLSL learning resources, and try build your own shaders in Shadertoy or Bonzomatic (used in the compo)

They can use the ones we provide or bring their own, which can sometimes be a bit tricky if they're using a language layout that isn't installed on the compo PCs. - Steltek

What program are they using that allows them to write the shader and view it as they are editing? I found an app like that on Android but for pc it would be cool to have the one they are using since the UI is so nice and simple. Oh and I assume the text editor works like it's supposed to. The Android shader editor has a buggy as fuck text editor....
