Well done sir. I am a sickle cell warrior, I did total hip replacement one year, followed all the rules, did physiotherapy, gym and everything necessary but still limping alot with some little pain. I feel so sad! How can i correct this? Do i need a revision surgery?

@@colebrendah678 You need a good work up from an orthopedic surgeon fellowship trained in hip replacement (most of us do a fellowship in hip and knee replacement customarily in the US). You can find surgeons on the AAHKS.org site. We know how to work this up and determine a diagnosis. I always tell patients ; you can’t fix the problem without first figuring out what the true problem is. Diagnosis first ; discussion of possible options after this.

Revision of a replacement that early is never a good thing. I always tell patients, you want one joint replacement surgery that lasts forever. Of course we need to revise hips in the setting of infection , fracture, recurrent dislocation and other reasons; but fortunately those things are rare. Good luck. Work with your surgeon to optimize your outcome.
