I don't think you should worry about doing the Shooting Location videos in episode order. Just do them in whatever order is convenient (locations you can find/get to first) then optionally make an episode-order playlist later.

Being a fan of both the show and this channel I've learned one thing.. When I was a kid growing up and idolizing Michael Knight, these cars took a helluva beating, show after show, after show and somehow the cars were cobbled together just to get the next scene done. I still enjoy the show from time to time realizing now and having a good chuckle. Thanks Joe for all you do for us. I appreciate it.

You see in the show how the cars many times almost crashes after the jump, but this is something that made the 1980's shows miles better than any CGI fake show today.

This location is right around the corner from where I live. They filmed a few scenes around this area. There used to be a really good healthy grocery store/market called “Full of Life” which I believe was shown in the background in one of the scenes that has unfortunately succumbed to Covid and closed down. Burbank is really close to North Hollywood and Universal City and many episodes were filmed near or around there throughout the series. Also George Barris had his garage super close to Universal Studios as well. My wife and her family grew up in Santa Clarita - another hotbed filming location for KR and The A-Team as well. And my final “connection” to KR…..my first job was back in 1993 at Universal Studios Hollywood and my buddy was one of the voices of the KITT car they had on display over the pond (the car I believe that Joe now owns and restored). Good times!

Definitely some of the Turbo Boosts are more convincing than others, clever camera angles, editing, carefully parked vehicles etc all made up the illusion.

I've always loved the scenes where KITT does a smooth landing from Turbo Boost. As opposed from trashing the front bumper and bonnet.

Let's be honest... quite a few of us watched KR every week in the hope of seeing one or more Turbo Boosts! ..... and Dukes of Hazzard for that matter 😅. Still love the jumps today as much as back then.

Good to see AJ, pretty neat to see the wall is still there after all these years. So many filming locations are so different and nothing left, but there there's a few that still look about the same. It's not for just Knight Rider but other shows and movies.

Did you get a look at the run-off / landing area? Some of the editing in the show makes it look like the car lands in the alley way, nearer to being in front of the car being pursued. My most favorite and most convincing self driving part was when KITT self started and we see him from the front obviously behind the tow dolly fogs on, headlights up and he is on his way to jailbreak Michael out of the jail.. the same scene used in a later episode.. The jumps now show the fibber car to much despite the nerve and guts to do the jumps needed were second to none... brave stunt drivers..

You can see that the roadway is about a car and a half wide space. And the Cadillac was not traveling next to KITT. They even appeared that they would bump mirrors if they actually passed each other. So naturally KITT just had to swing in just a little bit and then go over the wall.

You could create a KITT POV of the jump with careful set-up of a drone flight towards and over the wall.

Hi, i just watched the A Team series and in season 3 episode 18 Road Games episode they using a semi truck as a mobile casino and i looks so similar to the Knight Rider trailer. The inside of it the crossmembers panels etc, from outside the rivets looks identical as well but the colour is a bit different. I don`t know if anyone ever noticed it before just thought i ask might as the series was running between 1983-1987 it might be a match. I know the back doesn`t open the same way but who knows...

Wow both the Good Year and the church haven't changed much in 40 years. You could get a permit and recreate the turbo boost scene shot for shot, put it in the episode, and it would look out of place. I bet the owners of both buildings don't know they have filming location landmarks. People purchase tires at the Good Year every day and don't know KITT leaped over the back wall 40 years ago. Mind blowing when you think about that.

It would be interesting to ask Jack Gill how much scouting and prep work went into planing out the turbo boosts prior to the day the crew came out to shoot those scenes. I would assume they had to do some math to determine the distance needed for the car to get up to speed for the jump along with factors such as the weight of the car, angle of the incline of the ramp and amount of room available for the car to land and stop before running into anything in its pathway.

Once the two cars drove past the wall section you think is in the way of the stunt the flivver car simply veered right to hit the ramp.

You can clearly see part of the wall in the original scene. They weren't going that fast, and they likely turned the car after they passed the wall.

The jump was where the grey minivan was parket from what I can see. Just count the blocks on the wall until KITT's front left tire and you have the distance from the sidewall piece to where he jumped. Moving over just 1 lane isn't impossible in that distance but the jump run up had to be started from the back alley across the street to gain enough speed.

I don't think they needed speed, you just got fooled by the magic of editing. That shell was probably towed over that wall, so they didn't need much running distance.
