New pipe smoker here, nearly 2 months in. The burnout is real. I brought Boswells sample packs when I started. I regret being in such a rush to try them all out in a short time. I wouldn't touch another aromatic for like 3 weeks and the tongue bites were hell to deal with. Just had a Boswells Best the other day and enjoyed it again. Now I never smoke the same 2 types of blends back to back if I do they need to be distinctly different enough.

I love smoking aromatics occasionally. Especially in mixed company.

Got a pipe from the Pipe Nook today - thanks Eddie, I love it! Agree with your point of changing things up so as to not burn out. Something for me to think of as I start a cellar.

Hello brother! I’ve been a pipe smoker for 22 years and I’ve had a knife and EDC channel for a while. But I’ve just started a pipe channel as well, and I’m new to the YTPC. Someone said you were in my neck of the woods. I’m in Pensacola. New sub here. Looking forward to following along! 👊🏻

Thanks for the sub! I live just north of Pensacola. Send me a message sometime through the contact page of my site...maybe we can have a smoke together sometime!

As soon as I saw the heading of your video, I thought how much I've been enjoying C&D's Mocha recently, and up popped your tin of Mocha! Nice! The taste is chocolatey coffee good. My original favorite aromatic is Tinderbox's North Sea, which, as Ive read around the online pipesmoker havens over the years, is actually Peter Stokkebye's Nougat, though, to my pallette, after smoking both blends, North Sea seems to have some additional "meat" to the smoke. I don't know, but it seems like a slightly heavier, filling smoke that I've long thought of as Raisin Bran in a pipe bowl. Sweet and savory. I tend to smoke more nonaromatics like burley and Turkish blends, VaPers, and occasional English/Balkan/latakia mixtures, but it's always fun returning to the sugary, fruity sweet aromatic smokes.

I find that most of the aromatics that I like are codgers. Granger, Edgeworth (match), those are the flavored ones I like. I agree though, the FUN of this hobby is trying new things. The other parts of it are relaxation, contemplation and meditation.

Good to see you posting! Another good reason for choosing snvaromatic is if you are goingntonbeboutbin public or around people who might not be fans ofnnon-aromatic blends. For that reason I keepvsome C&D's Nutty Irishman laced withnFrangelico) or Sutliff's Black Dpice ( cinnamonn&;nutmeg) around. The latter tendntonneedbdrying out. Happy puffing Eddie andnall !!!

I got some Autumn Evening a few years ago and initially it was too goopy, or over saturated with the topping. I only smoked a few bowls of it then put it on the shelf. I tried it again this past fall and it had really mellowed on the topping and was really nice. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and take care.

I generally rotate through a burly blend a vaper and dealers choice on an english blend. Right now the merry monk is really hitting the spot. I keep a stash of ennerdaler flake around and some dark birds eye to change pace. Every now and again I'll grab some velvet especially if I'm going to be around non smokers. It seems to have that classic pipe smell non pipers talk about.
@yasintayebnaimi15526 ай бұрын
Hey Eddie, just watched your live with Wilson. After two years of struggling to smoke non-filtered pipes without getting chemical burn, I figured out that I'm not the only one who has this issue. I'll stop fighting and go back to using filtered-only. Make a video with the title if you may, as there are so many others like me, I guess. I searched many times for solving my issue and found nothing. thinking it's bcs of the way I'm smoking(doing it wrong). Now thanks to you, I know what should I do.

Now that I have figured out how to enjoy straight Virginia's and VaPers for their nuances and no bite, I've learned to apply those techniques to Aeros and, the good quality ones, I am enjoying quite a bit more now.

What happened to your Phoenix pipes from Peterson? Do you still sell them?
@ThePipeNook5 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, the Phoenix series has been discontinued. Peterson was no longer able to obtain the same rod stock for those colored stems, so we discontinued the line. I may collaborate with them (or another company) in the future to create a new series, but nothing's in the works at the moment. Thanks for watching!

if someone made Flying Dutchman I’d stock up. The match isn’t. It misses the mark.
@englishmanpipesmoker34259 ай бұрын
I agree. The match is nothing like the real Flying Dutchman. Wish that blender as well as the original blender for Amphora didn't go out of business. To be honest Sutliffs isn't really that good. I do like their Rum and Maple but that's about it. Now the blends that Sutliff created back in the 30s and 40s are good, like Mixture #79 and Heine's Blend.
@darrylthehorntoadpiper9 ай бұрын
Hello have you tried Maple Shadows ? If do what is your opinion ? Is that considered an aromatic? I find it more to the English side & not real mapely & a little biting ?
@ThePipeNook9 ай бұрын
I haven't tried it, but it's certainly an aromatic with that Maple topping. It may be a light aromatic, though I can't say since I've never smoked it. Sounds interesting, though. The biting may come from either the Burley, Virginia, flavoring, or a combination of two of those, depending on your personal makeup. Thanks for watching!

I’m always looking for the strong flavored aros. Haven’t found many. I’m not good on picking out all the flavors like a lot of people seem to be able to do. Not too interested in the tobacco flavor, looking for the topped/cased flavors. Autumn Evening is good, Molto Dolce, Scotty’s Trout Stream. I didn’t get anything from Cult Blood Red Moon, maybe I’ll try again. Capt Black Grape I liked & my wife did too, amazingly. Any suggestions ?

You might like the Mocha I was smoking. It's about the "heaviest" aromatic I enjoy smoking, personally...so I don't have too many other suggestions. Sorry!

I was the same way, but my tastes changed over time. I always recommend jarring up tobaccos rather than throwing them out, so you can revisit them in the future. I didn't really like Haunted Bookshop 7 years ago, but a few years back, I revisited the blend, and it's now become one of my go-to's....practically a daily smoke for me at this point.
