Revisiting my Tekkit Classic builds from 2012

The nostalgia hit me like a freight train, this just brought tears to my eyes. I remember the year 2012 10 years old I noticed a video in my recommend section, a working cinema in Minecraft I see this and can't believe it really worked it was the first non clickbait video of something with a title like this so I was super excited to try it myself.I researched the mod u used computer craft and spent the whole night researching how to use the mod and making ASCII art to use as the title screen so I could make mine just like urs and this took me down a rabbit hole of videos based on computer craft and the LUA programming language. The things I saw just blew my mind like the waterpark you made just it motivated and inspired me to learn LUA so I could make cool stuff too and at 10 years old I became fluent in LUA practicing and using it everyday, wherever and whenever I could. The fact that I could do it too just made my passion grow even stronger and it led me to learn other programming languages, java next then c++ and now I'm a computer science student who has finished my first diploma with the highest grade possible and getting the extension for a year before moving on to the next level and this is all thanks to a single video made by you showing how to make a working cinema in Minecraft. Without that video I don't know what I would be doing now, would I have found this skill so thank you for that video it has led me here to a place where I have 7 years experience in programming when that is just under half of my entire life. Thank you so much lex keep on making these and filling me with the joy I felt back when I just found you so remaking these builds would be great to see.

Rebuild it. There is a mod which allows you to use a web browser that you could use for your cinema. I used the mod to watch youtube in Minecraft in a big cinema.

Man, this is truly nostalgic for me, given I had just really got into Minecraft in 2012 and this was The renaissance of modded Minecraft. For me FTB Ultimate Beta was my first real pack, but I do recall watching these videos and being amazed at what mods enabled. I’d love to see retake on them with the current resurgence Minecraft has had and especially with all new mods that are out there

used to watch your videos a long time ago! always loved your use of the projectRed/redpower microblocks for builds, especially your railway stuff here and there. if you do a new, modern take on that sort of thing, i highly reccomend using Immersive Engineering, Immersive Petroleum, and Immersive Railroading, they are FANTASTIC for industrial decoration! (and IR has TONS of user-made packs for all sorts of trains, carriages, and the lot.) (also, Immersive Tech and Immersive decor are great to use too!)

Consider tekkit legends. It combines different packs, vanilla, voltz, tekkit classic and tekkit classic reborn. On top of that, there are more materials to construct with.

You could totally rebuild this using new 1.12, 1.13 or 1.14 mods. You could easily rebuild the caravan park using Mr. Crayfish's Furniture Mod, Chisel and Chisels and Bits.

This is very cool!! I believe the lag is due to all of the micro-blocks you have used I heard somewhere that the micro-blocks can cause some, if not, a lot of lag in the game..

Actually without the video recording it does play fairly well still. As it turned out, I discovered after filming that my nvidia drivers corrupted, so it wasn't using NVENC when recording, hence the low framerate.

Looking at these build I really do think you'll enjoy working with the mod Chisel&Bits. It's like Forge Microblocks and Red Power Microblocks, but MUCH more granular :D

Oh my god! found your channel from these! If you do redo it, I would recommend the mod as 'little tiles' over 'chisel and bits' for the microblock stuff (it can take a bit getting used to but it's very powerful and wayyyy less Laggy than chisel and bits) oh little tiles can work over multiple blocks compared to chisel and bits only one block.

Little tiles is a better mod than chisel and bits it lets you create working chairs, doors etc from micro blocks and it's compatible with chisel and bits.

Ooo I'll take a look at that! It doesn't seem that it's "better", it just offers something different from what I can see. I've really been impressed with the intuitiveness of Chisels and Bits mod when it comes to building things. That one definitely seems great for custom doors etc though!
