Hi lawrence, thank you for the effort but how did you manage to keep the top and bottom profile parallel to the work plan?? would you explain what is the approach to create such component, iam still student I cant find the answer please and thank you :) I mean in case you need to create swept blend with two prfiles

Hi, If you are referring to the concrete formwork, this was modelled using an in-place family using the blend tool. This will allow the creation of a top and bottom profile.

@@RevitStructureBlog sorry for the confusing, my question here is not pure structure but since you are the same tutor in Autodesk help i thought that you might have the answer; The question is: Iam creating swept blend, iam using Arc shape to sketch the path, the profiles would rotate accordingly to be perpendicular to the path arc, how can i keep the profiles vertical and prevent them from twisting when i change the path? I hope i could explain correct, english is not my first language

@@User_2026_ If you are using a swept blend the profiles should stay in the same rotation. Each profile angle can be set in the instance properties

You are correct, you’ll need to use Dynamo for the links

Hi RevitStructureBlog, First of all thank you for your videos! I need to know how to make a free form rebar with L shaped bars. Please Help
@RevitStructureBlog7 жыл бұрын
Thie new tool is only for straight bars at the moment. You can of course create L Bars by using Dynamo to generate the shapes. If you use the BIM4Struct package you will be able to select the straight bars, get the lines from these and add the Other leg to the bars to form the L Shape. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick reply. Will Try that. On another note, what I´m trying to do is create a vertical L shaped varying rebar set of a 50m wall with a really small slope, my smaller side of a wall is 2.87 and the larger one is 2.88. As you can see its a small slope. When i create the varying set Revit makes it as a non-varying set. Is it because of the tight slope. Was I clear? Is there any walk-around? Thanks in advance.

This shouldn't make any difference to the varying range. I have noticed that sometime if you make the rebar set maximum spacing and then use the shape handles to drag the rebar set it snaps to the angle
