I use a reference plane because coping is often unreliable and it relies on an element, that may be deleted or moved in a way that it breaks the coping. Editing an element that is connected to other elements is usually a pain in revit, so reference plane is more flexible.

When you select beam support for the beam system, it doesnt work, the beam you select is not "selectable"

It is built into the Revit install. (Insert > Load Family > Structural) I also modified some of them as needed!

basically the 1st method does not work if the angle is too steep, and the 2nd does not work quite well......

I have a question regarding the material of the structual beams. It seems to me that you can only change the material of the individual beam in the properties panel but not the material o all the beams of the same family on the proyect, like you could do with a wall. Is there a way to do this?
@TheRevitKid
@TheRevitKid 3 жыл бұрын
By default, structural framing material is usually an instance parameter. Meaning, you will have to select all of the beam and apply a material to them. If you want, you can open the structural beam family and change the material parameter to a "type" depending on your needs.

Hi there Is there a way to use a google 3d background image and place lighting on the site and then render in 3D? i would love to use this for clients when we look at lighting for their buildings to show what it would look like before they buy

@@ingabbateantonio in this case I am truly interested in your method for cutting a rafter at the ridge beam. I’m all about transparency and sharing with others… if I find a newer better way to do something than an older video of mine i own up to it and make a new videos. this would be a great example to share another, better, way. You’re more than welcome to email me your solution if you don’t want to share it publicly here…
