Awesome video and build! Question on the electronics -did you guys adapt the stock harness or did you build a new one/use an out-of-the-box harness? Were you able to use the stock ECU? Thank you!
@RevivalCycles3 жыл бұрын
This bike received an m.Unit install and there really isn't a way to use the entire OEM harness as the m.Unit is a paradigm shift away from traditional power management. The ECU is retained but the immobilizer disabled, I can't recall whether we used a piggyback or aftermarket ECU on this project.

@@RevivalCycles Thanks so much for the reply. since posting my comment ive watched several other revival videos and realize i have a lot to learn on re-wiring. to be clear though, you're saying you obviously still needed an ECU but you can't recall whether or not you used a power commander piggybacked off of the stock ECU or if you used an aftermarket ECU, is that correct? What is your preferred aftermarket ECU manufacturer for ducati? Thanks so much!

Great build! What did you guys use for clip ons?
@RevivalCycles Жыл бұрын
Those clip-ons are stock to the 900ss. We just ran the wiring through and powder coated them black.

Technically the frame on this bike is Nickel plated, looks a lot like chrome, but has a slightly different color, and is the preferred choice for racing frames. The racers go with nickel because it will show a crack instead of hiding it under paint, powder coat, or chrome, and also it makes it easier to do weld repairs since you don't have to deal with the hard chrome surface. Very few concerns about cracks on this mostly stock steel 900ss frame, but we really like the look of nickel and its a nice nod to racing history. We have also built complete frames out of super duplex stainless steel (255 and 2507) and that material is awesome, it has the strength of Chromoly but will not rust. That means no plating, and it can be polished or brushed, or matte finish. The down side is that material is expensive and challenging to work with.
