I have also been studying Daniel's prophecies (Still), and Recently decided to Order several Different Hebrew to English Translations in order to Prove to myself (at least) what the Hebrew Text actually says in Daniel 9:24-27 (and especially vs. 26) --- as a Hebrew scholar named Dr. Al Garza has videos on youtube explaining these verses too. And he INSISTS that the Hebrew text says "the people of a coming prince" (or "a people of a coming prince" or ruler) will destroy the city and the sanctuary ... as opposed to "The people of THE prince who is to come. ..." And TWO of the THREE Hebrew manuscript Translators Agree with Dr. Garza that the text say "the people (or troops) of A coming prince will destroy the city and the sanctuary." Those two are Dr Jay P. Green Sr. and Robert Alter from UC Berkley, Professor of Hebrew for like 50 years --- and a Jew (but Not a Believer). So according to Dr. Garza (and these two other Hebrew scholars), this means that the "HE" in verse 27 refers to the Messiah --- as opposed the Antichrist. The Septuagint also agrees with this: that the "HE" is (Messiah) who will Destroy the city and the sanctuary with the prince that is coming" and that the war that took place then was talking about Jerusalem being Destroyed as opposed to the end of the world. That Happened in 70 AD. So the Prince who came was Titus and he came almost 2000 years ago. Therefore, this passage is Not talking about a future antichrist entering into a yet future Temple, but a prince or ruler (i.e. Titus or Caesar) who came and Destroyed the Old Jerusalem and the Temple --- Just like Jesus said would take place. -- and that took place almost 2000 years ago. To me at least, verse 25 seems to say that Messiah would show up at the Beginning of the 70th week. Verse 26 tells us that He would Die AFTER the 69th week (or During the 70th week), and verse 27 tells us that it would be in the Middle of that week -- that the Important Covenant would be made by Jesus: also referred to as the "holy covenant." Isn't that exactly what happened? And isn't That when the Old system of animal sacrifice to Please God came to an End (in the Eyes of God and heaven - and when the Veil of the Temple was Torn in two: when ... When Jesus BECAME the Sacrifice and put a STOP to that system -- in the Middle of that Last Week? And Didn't He tell His Disciples to "Go ONLY to the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel - and which they did for another 3.4 years.? So all we have left of this week is 45 days (based on Daniel `12:1-12), and a "little while" (in Isaiah 26:20-21) and for "one hour" (of Danger if you're Not Close to Jesus) in Rev. 17:14-15. And in case you didn't know, 3.5 Years is Not a Little While, but a Long Time. That is why I tell my brothers and sisters to be Prepared to lay low for at least 45 days.
