I bought Chaetomorpha from algae barn. Golf ball size. It’s grown close to the size of a gallon of milk. It took about 6 weeks though. H80 115g tank trigger 39 with marine pure cubes. Lots of food for nitrates. It’ll take off after a few weeks.

The word y'all were looking for about the edges of the pvc pipe is a bevel they make tools for it they are about $60. Also, apply a twist to the pipe and fitting it will reduce your chance of a leak.

I had some reef rock outside for seven years. I soaked it in bleach/water 1/4 ratio for two weeks changing the solution every 3-4 days. Then cycled for another week with RO water and dechlorinator. Rock came out clean. Has been in tank for 6 months with no issues at all.

That fish qt service would be a great option for 90% of the reefers out there. Having him hand pick fish, TTM treat, then qt for a month all while getting then fat and happy with proper food. Easily worth 4x the cost of a fish on live aquaria. PROPER qt is a LOT of work.

Another great video! Thank you guys! I just ordered a Nuvo 40g, looking to make it a seagrass refugium, copepods, anthropods, isopods, polychraetic worms etc. Great addition to my 150g mixed reef. Any informational material or advice on bed, lighting, flow? Thanks again!

How do you know if the tissue is healthy? My GSP mat is still purple. However it doesn’t open anymore and I’m not sure if it’s dead and if I should take it out. I’m a novice to this and it’s not brown but some pieces do fly off very lightly with the powerhead flow so I’m not sure in this case ? I see a clear polyp I did a water change and I’ll check it again when I get home. Do you recommend I take it out ?

If the tissue is still purple, there is still a chance that it will pull through. My #1 suggestion would be to ensure proper water quality and to make sure that the lighting is also conducive to coral growth in terms of both intensity and spectrum.

Does stn or rtn happen to lps?

When we talk about RTN/STN, we're talking about SPS corals. While LPS corals can certainly lose flesh for a number of reasons, that isn't usually referred to as RTN/STN, but rather just "tissue recession."

ok, so if i have a piece of coral . are they still alive when dry
@BRStv3 жыл бұрын
No, corals cannot survive long term out of water. The dry white corals you often see in gift shops are dead.
