A Fluke 15B multimeter that came from picking up trash.
Over the years, the outer shell became very brittle and chipped away while polishing, so the front outer shell could only be replaced.
The red wire was connected to the negative pole of the power supply of the previous motherboard. The test machine broke down and smoked directly. Fortunately, the main parts were not burned out. I replaced the rectifier diode and repaired it.
Replace the 3.2V lithium iron phosphate 14500 battery to solve the hidden danger of leakage of ordinary batteries after a long time, and the functions are fully restored.

Nice refurbishing project. I don't know if I would have replaced the typical batteries for a lithium, since batteries in these meters last for years. But it worked out all the same. Thumbs Up!

Thank you for your message. I didn't burn the diode on purpose. The previous person connected the red wire to the negative terminal. I mistakenly thought that the red wire was the positive terminal, so I burned it. The battery compartment is damaged, so I want to replace the lithium battery, which also solves the hidden danger of ordinary batteries leaking and corroding the circuit board.
