Fantastic restoration. Always wonderful to watch your work, Aaron. In Bedo's most recent video, he re-glued a gemming by removing the insole/footbed and gluing a new one to the gemming.

Those thick wedge soles make my old feet say Aaahhh. NICE! That nice fat midsole, yes, NICE! You stitched the seam on top to make that right, also nice. Those boots still have all sorts of life in them. As always Aaron, wonderful work. You saved a pair of boots and made them better.

The resole is nice, but that re-stitch on the Moc Toe completely transformed them back to a nice weathered well broken-in pair of boots.

Great job as always. The gemming is a problem with Redwing boots. Cobbler G from Scotland posted a video recently with the same problem with the gemming pulling away from the insole. Easy fix for a recrafting cobbler but not good for the owner of the shoe when they width changes. I wonder if Redwing knows or cares about this feature of their boots.

They used to make them better Long time ago. Thanks 🙏

Funny how you can see the print of the guy's left toe so clearly where the gemming was slipping. 🤭 I wonder if his ankle hurt.

Beautiful job! in a previous video you mentioned red wing boots glues the gemmings in. If they sewed them in would this stop them from coming apart?
@AaronG248010 ай бұрын
It would, but the foot bed is to thick, you normally see that on paperboard foot-beds with sock liners or a thin leather foot bed. These boots are very old let’s say that’s “Normal “ Vintage Red wing boots used wax on the gemming and this never happens even on boots that are 15/20 years old Cheers!

I must know what is the anvil that is shaped like an S used for. It looks like two parts of just the front of the last but not the back. Also what is the purpose of pressing the sole. Is it really necessary?

This is my favorite type of video you do. It's fascinating to see a pair of boots that looks as trashed as these, get brought back to life. How would you describe that Dr. Sole wedge compared to the standard Vibram? Fantastic job, Aaron!

Thanks a lot They’re softer and more flexible than Vibram Christy , more like Vibram 377 christy thick.
