This is a mid 1970s Coleman 220J White Gas lantern directly from the thrift store. Had some fun with this one!

You could have used that gas. White gas does not go bad. Just need to pour it through a coffee filter and you're good to go. I have used white gas that is over 25 years old. I have refurbished 11 lanterns and 3 stoves. Make sure to clip off the strings from the mantles. Cheers from eastern TN

You most likely could have used the leather pump cup. Just add some oil and it should pump up.

Well, mine is a little order and it had rust in the fount (tank) and after seeing this I poured out a rinse into a white container and rust bits came out , quite a bit really and I see rust in your poor spout. I used white vinegar to soak the fount four about 8 hours and then poured most of that out and dropped in small nuts and bolts and shook it in every direction for twenty minutes and then rinsed into white container until no more flakes could be found. My lamp is in much better shape than yours and I am just thinking that was maybe not a good choice to poor that fuel in your four wheeler unfiltered. Hope it’s not a problem because you may have an in-line filter. I rebuilding mine and I found I need a new check value so parts on order.

Yea I will probably do that eventually, the tank in that fourwheeler already had a lot of trash in it anyways so I wasn’t too worried about it lol
