He did a Great job! Several years ago I found one of those USMC Bolo Knives at a thrift store. It had a lot of surface rust on it and the sheath was missing, but the handle was good. I wanted to buy it to restore, but the store wanted $90.00 for it. I had to pass it up. Then I dropped in about a week later and they were having a 50% off sale for the entire store! The Bolo was still there, but for $45.00. I cleaned it up nicely with a product that took the rust off but left the patina and it came out GREAT. I still have it and it's a nice part of my collection. Great Video my friend and congrats on getting such a cool piece of USMC History!! : )

Beautiful work. Great craftsmanship 👍That particular military vintage Bolo machete is unique. Very heavy thick profile-more of a huge Bowie knife. Impregnated wood created under Thousands of pounds pressure makes the wood almost Fossilized .

Great job he did, I like his sharpening technique. That wax/mineral oil would also be great for leather sheath's. That Marine corp bolo is highly sought after, becoming harder and harder to find. I've heard those Mercury camp knives are good quality knives, they also have different models with different covers and tools. Great video kevin.

That was Maple wood he use on the Machete.

That particular handle is curly maple. I use a lot of different burls, cherry, walnut, etc... if it's pretty ill use it.
