The Celestials are a class of Monsters consist of twelve species originating from Dawn of Fire. They cannot breed, nor can they be bred. Instead, Eggs from the Breeding Structures of other Islands can be "zapped" into the dormant Celestials on Celestial Island instead of being sent to the Nursery. Once you have zapped enough eggs of each species required in to a Celestial, you can revive it. In their dormant forms, Celestials do not produce Currency, nor do they contribute to the Island's song in any way. Once they are revived, however, they begin singing and producing several different types of currency (allowing for Diamond Farms), and they are no longer in statue form.
The Celestial Monsters are Torrt, Blasoom, Hornacle, Attmoz, Glaishur, Syncopite, Scaratar, Loodvigg, Plixie, Furnoss, Vhamp, and Galvana

The reason the monsters look different than the statues is because the statues are of their elderly versions, seen in dawn of fire. While in this game you revive them and they turn into babies. Btw the monsters are nothing compared to their dawn of fire versions. In dawn of fire they literally have one of the best songs in the entire franchise.

The reason they shrink is because they become new, reborn versions of their dawn of fire counterparts. After the collapse of continent, celestial island became unstable and they changed from their original forms to more preserving stone form. After they are revived in msm they get younger forms to live out their celestial years over again

Heres some msm lore. The celestials are the first monsters in the monster world. The Starhenge fell onto a colossal due to no power from the continent splitting. The celestials turned themselves into statue and restart their life cycle to save themselves from the starhenge crashing, which is why they are statues and wake up as babies.

Personally, I love the baby versions of the celestials more, especially since Glaishur is so GODDAMN CUTE, and Attmoz just reminds me of Ted from Bill and Ted, and I think that’s great. I get the sound isn’t as great as their adult forms, but their baby forms are so cute, you can’t deny it. Also, I just realized Plixie has a belly button, that is a weird implication.
