shrewsbury town and high street when busy is a perfect example of a bustling commercial area with big stores rubbing shoulders with smaller niche shops. that can be replicated all over the UK with the improvements and cheapness of parking. its dead easy yet councils are deluded, not even listening to the public with their surveys.

Vote Reform! My local High Street (Bletchley, in Milton Keynes) has eight charity shops. It's all run down and scruffy.The small shopping centre at one end has at least half of its units empty; the only reason many people go through it is to reach a car park.

The only way to revive high streets is to kick Amazon out of the country. EBay doesn’t help, but then internet shopping full stop isn’t good for the high street and neither are shopping malls, out of town shopping precincts or supermarkets.

foot traffic is killed off by big out of town supermarkets and amazon warehouses who have Favourable tax rates making mass selling cheaper to the point they can loss lead in the £10's of thousands a year . we need a reform of council Tax rates for businesses and Scrap VAT all together for Small businesses , rip the UK of the two -tier vat scheme why can registered businesses pass off the VAT to customers and claim back later, but Non-registered have to upfront all the VAT costs (this is why small businesses are not setting up) either the same rules should apply to all businesses like No VAT or all pay vat on their goods at the end of transactions. things would be much more simple if Small businesses were just fully VAT exempt.
