AMT, working on my extra set up so weird was build 15 years ago and the wiring is so confusing, noise diluters, random bec’s. Just ripping everything out and running a power box

The first turbine powered RC plane I ever saw was a big beautiful F-4 Phantom and I believe it was equipped with an older AMT turbine.

Okay, this is long after the build is finished but... When you were talking about "heat proofing" the tail section of this bird I was thinking of that ceramic paint you often use. Both to coat the entire inner surface of the tail and the OUTSIDE of the tailpipe. You'd probably still want to use a bit of blanket to shield the servos that are super close to the pipe.

For the age of the F-100 model it came out when AMT engines were a prominent name for power plants. They were like the newer generation that we have now, very dependable. AMT like the other manufacturers of that time always seemed to think bigger was more powerful. Along with modern inovations and better assembly processes, everything got smaller, simpler and surprisingly more powerful.

Great engines for sure! I have heard stores of guys running for 100+ hours on them. Just keep running with the unfortunate weight penelty.

I think a large part of the heat concerns on this aircraft were due to the full bypass, which was state of the art at that time, the limited space between hot components and electric/air/mechanical components and more so to do with the fact that the original owner probably did more running of the engine on the ground (hours wise) than ever in the air flight time. Time has got away from me but IIRC this aircraft was barely flown. I believe it was the subject of at least 1 major model magazine article. I think I did see BV fly it once at either Jets over Kentucky or maybe at one of the jet events in Florida…can’t be sure. Might have been another similar aircraft. Im TREMENDOUSLY excited to see what you and your team will do with this and hopefully see this aircraft flown again.

She,s a beauty alright. 🎉 Can,t Believe the lights and airbrake were air operated.😮 Plenty of scope to do things differently.😅 At least the Xcoy is a bit more fuel efficient re tank size.😂 Not a lot of damage over all for it,s age. 😮 What about injecting some epoxy ito leading edge that way ya only left with smaller hole in the stab.😅 Great work carry on.😅❤😂

On my first of Two F-100’s it came out weighing 36#’s and flew with a P-120 for power which was plenty of power as it was able to keep up in speed with most sport jets like the Shockwave back in the day..

I think that this plane should really just be in the Nez livery... By the way, i am thinking of making a rc plane again. i think the sportcub S2 is a good starter rc plane for me. after that, i will start building my own. my dream is to eventually build a rc 777 that is 15 meters long and weighs 700 kilos😂 And of course, Nez can always just ask for a charter with my rc 777 if he wants to meet me in scotland😂 escorted by Nez air force jets😆😆😆

I never used the heat blanket in any of my BVM planes. It’s really not necessary.

Why not use the CB210 and re-map the output channels of the Rex7's that will give you ample ports. Just ensure you supply power yo thr bus and not rely on EXT port for power supply.

AMT engines are good engines, like everything else, if you maintain them well they will give many years of great service. I'm interested in the AMT engine for a project I'm working on, do you kno2w the size, weight, and hours on the AMT? Additionally, what price would it sell for?
