Tiny Toons wasn't just a new Looney Tunes, it revived the brand and taught us how we can revive our old ideas too...

After all these years, I had forgotten Tiny Toons was a cartoon within a cartoon. I remember it being like, say, they were all at school learning to be actors for their own show. Which was the show.

Fun random TINY TOON ADVENTURES trivia: The series was seen as the culmination of Bugs Bunny's 50th Anniversary (Warner Brothers celebrates his birthday based on Tex Avery's 1940 short "A Wild Hare" as his first appearance, even though -technically- a prototype cartoon rabbit turned up in a few shorts before that.) The first good look the public got at the characters was in his 50th anniversary magazine one-shot. The pilot ("The Looney Beginning") which originally aired in prime time on CBS was not made until they were halfway through production of the first season and was worked on by several different animation studios...which is why the character models seem to radically shift during it.

...I recall the crew stated they did regret they could not use the characters inspired by Chucks Jones' characters (Fifi, Calamity, Little Sneezer, etc) as much as they wanted to as Chuck Jones was still very much around then and took a dim view of derivative characters. (Alas) so they mostly only got minor roles and only once or twice a focus.

...I always liked Dizzy best. I think because I'm introverted and boring IRL...I admire the uninhibited party animals. *g*

This supposedly "first" episode was only the first to air in the United States. In actuality, it was episode #48 in production order as well as international airings.

That makes sense, toons do that all the time. But I still appreciate the introduction to the series that this provided.

You are criminally underviewed. I just saw this and subscribed right away. Great research, great editing, great voice over. You should have 100k subs by now. What did you do to piss off the algorithm that is keeping you undiscovered? Did you bad mouth the Clintons or something?

Thanks man, the only reason the algorithm doesn't promote me more is because I don't follow the trends, I make awesome content my number 1 priority. This is an incredibly encouraging comment, thank you so much. I hope you enjoy all the rest of my videos just as much as this one.

Montana Max was always a 'never-say-it-in-public-favorite' of mine. If anything, this is the remains of what he knows should be his, hence the way he did walk around like he did in fact own the place. Monty is the upgrade villain here for the next gens: Nothing grants the bad guy with more power, than the reveal he is the one that was right all along.

It should also be noted that Tiny Toon Adventures was a segue into the next series, Animaniacs, with episodes like "Fields of Honey," which had revived the classic Merrie Melodies characters, Bosko and Honey, and "Two Tone Town," which had revived characters such as Foxy, Roxy, and Goopy Gear. Also, Animaniacs had revived another long-forgotten character, Buddy. After the cancellation of Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs had enjoyed more success, including two spin-offs, and a merchandising campaign that had lasted into the early 2000s. However, the 2020 remake had failed to capture the success of the original series, and I fear that Tiny Toons Looniversity will be no different.

Just remember if Charles Mintz did not take away most of Walt Disney's Staff and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit we wouldn't have Looney Tunes because one of the people who got to Charles Mintz was Rudolf Ising and Hugh Harman who spilt out of Winkler Pictures which Charles Mintz was apart of and Created Looney Tunes along with Friz Freleng

Tiny toons are the perfect allegory for millennials. We were told if we go to school and do everything right we would succeed and it never came true in large part because of the generations before us refusal to relinquish power, and now the older generations (loony toon boomers) are flourishing and getting more representation than ever ( despite dwindling numbers) and were spinning our wheels in the "reboot mud." with no say in anything.

The original Tiny Toon Adventures series from 1990 was the series that started a revolution in animated series by Steven Spielberg. It was the series that breathed new life into the Looney Tunes franchise not by doing what Hanna-Barbera was doing in making famous cartoon characters younger in a similar vein to Muppet Babies (1984), but rather creating junior counterparts to the Looney Tunes and having the Looney Tunes themselves teach them how to be professional cartoon stars like them. Characters like Elmyra Duff, Montana Max, and Furrball all ended up being very different from their respective Looney Tunes counterparts, Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, and Sylvester. The show alternated between having three seven-minute shorts focusing on different characters and full 22-minute episodes, and even the closing credits were something to look forward to, as each episode had a different gag credit that corresponded with the episode's theme and an end tag featuring one or two of the show's characters. The show also had high-quality merchandise in its heyday, such as two sets of Happy Meal toys from McDonald's, a set of plush toys from Playskool, a series of children's books from Golden Books, and a series of video games from Konami. While the Tiny Toons have been brought back for modern audiences as part of a reboot called Tiny Toons Looniversity, it sadly doesn't hold a candle to Adventures, due in part to its numerous changes from it. In the original series, Babs and Buster Bunny were an established couple, hence why they said "No relation!" when they introduced themselves. Looniversity now has them as twin siblings. IMO, making them twins is like if Disney suddenly made Mickey and Minnie Mouse twins; it just doesn't work. Also, Looniversity lacks the variety of characters, episodes, and locations that Adventures had, as well as the gag credits and end tags in the closing credits.

Japan almost had a Tiny Toons themselves with the song "Anime Ja Nai" with ZZ Gundam, but was too scared to piss off the overlords.
