I had one of these, used to chase the cat around with it. Radio Shack would fail with some of these. No reverse? They could have made a separate button for the fire control. At least it didn't reverse turn in a circle like most of their race cars did.

I have 1 still in the box and one I upgraded. But that's not the tracks for it .when I was a kid I built a Snow plow for it and .it was lots of fun .and now I build 1/6 th and 1/16 scale tanks they are all Metal And aluminum.

If you can 3D print the blank to make the silicone mold why not just 3D print the battery door?

The printed resin is strong at first, but it starts to get brittle and will break real easy.
