I don't think you're alone from the cohort that took a break from Classic Vanilla -> Classic TBC. After 20+ months dedicated to Classic Vanilla, a lot of people just needed a break. Would love another crack at TBC Classic.

@@meta6287Agreed - awesome raids, terrible faction balance on realms. TBC essentially only had "pve" realms by the end of the expansion, as all the pvp realms were 95% or more one faction. Perhaps except for Grobbulus.

@@meta6287 pretty much yeah, I remember I played on Benediction, which was like 55-45 at the end of classic, wpvp was balanced and enjoyable, but suddenly we got a huuuuuge amount of alliance players coming into the server, and it was all during a break I took from the game in phase 2, so finding no pvp after I came back from the break was pretty lame. The server became a pve server and was super dull.

I miss TBC and want to play it so much right now! So sad that my guild fell apart at the start of T5... Kind of messed up the rest of my plans for TBC classic :( Definitely my favorite expansion though! The music and zones were the best, attunements were goals to work for, raids were so fun.....it was amazing.

i played during tbc and the end woltk i never forget duels with my friend in nagrand, fully pvp geared and finaly i did few raids on karazan with dutch guild where i was in. it was fun. it was good time!

I tried to enjoy cata, just wasn't "classic" to me. Hoping for an "Original Trilogy rolling progression" server; Vanilla into TBC into WOTLK over a few years, then wipe the servers and start again. I'd play that forever. Vanilla has so many versions now that I don't currently miss it, and WOTLK just wrapped, so I could wait on WOTLK fresh. BC needs some love from Bliz.

I really miss TBC, the zones were beautiful and felt surreal, especially Zangarmarsh. Every level and piece of gear gave meaningful progression for your character. It was a good mix that respected more hardcore players, while easing in more casual players to higher level content. Like you said in the video, getting to level 70 was meaningful as you had to overcome many challenges to get there.

Man, if there was a good server which would release the TBC content in phases, or TBC classic server where I could go once again through it all, I would jump at the opportunity. Yes, there are some quality of life things I would probably miss from wrath, like dungeon finder and not spamming for group in /4, but still, TBC was the best expansion by far... The T5 raids in particular were just so good

Yes! Tier 5 raids were fantastic. Loved having the pre-nerf difficulty, and even zoning into a raid like Tempest Keep felt like an accomplishment

maybe after SoD. I think they know they can release it any time, and want to do it when it's right. They've seen Era's population grow after Spring of 2023, so they're probably keen to have that occur for TBCC.

TBC era servers would be nice, but seems unlikely anytime soon. Reason being that the classic community is gunning for fresh vanilla realms with their fake fresh project on Deviate Delight / Zandalar Tribe. Whenever TBC era servers get mentioned, there will be those naysayer voices that attack the concept because it would dwindle player bases on other versions, as if that somehow should matter. I wonder if the 'best' way to go about getting it is to go through wanting official hardcore tbc realms and getting fresh tbc era servers indirectly that way?

It's a great question - the organic hardcore movement is what brought about official HC servers to begin with, so that's not a bad idea! I just hope we don't have to wait until they re-release the Classic 2019 version with no-changes, and need to wait until those servers progress again to TBC. We'll see!

My experience in TBC was second to none, i had no interest in Wow before watching the others in my collage class play it. i went home and played it until 10 minutes before collage started the next day. I joined a small social guild and leveled there until lvl 70, my friend in the guild had just started like me but one night they got invited to a kara raid and got thir first EPIC....from that moment they were addicted to epics and needed more. So unbeknowen to me they had secured a space in a small raiding guild and got to work convincing them to invite me too, after a few months in that guild he had started to realise it wasnt enough to just bearly scrape a prince kill every week with a small chance of getting an item...so again he went on the search for bigger things and only went and landed a spot in one of the top raiding guilds on the server debatably 1st or 2nd. again, he found a way to get me invited.. i was tanking for the last guild and had decent kara gear and the new guild had just lost a tank due to quitting the game, but after they invited me the tank decided to stay. but they would have felt bad to kick me out again so i got to try my hand at DPS ....BUT...i had no DPS gear, one or two blues at most so there i was.. DPSing SSC with almost full greens and came awey with 6 EPICS that night. carried on raiding full time with them, sometimes 4 nights a week when racing for illidan kill. But work eventually got in the way around when sunwell came out and i couldn't raid as much, so fell behind so much that another player had to take my place..and again when Wrath hit it was the busiest time at work so i fell behind once more and never cought up again. None of the expansions ever since have been the same again.

Not currently playing on a pserver, but played on Atlantiss' Netherwing prior to Classic 2019 launch. It was a good server, and the team now operates as Stormforge. Their current iteration of TBC is on the Sunwell patch, so perhaps a fresh TBC from Stormforge is on the horizon.

I enjoyed TBC but not stepping foot in it again unless they make buffs raid wide. As a GM and raid leader dealing with perfect group comp and needing to find 5 shamans was a headache and nightmare all expansion

Definitely felt the struggle of that in TBC too. It's something that is both awesome to field a fully optimized group, but feels terrible when you don't. I was a GM in TBC as well, and if we were missing a Shaman on any given day, the 5 players in the non-shaman group would be pretty dang vocal. Feel you, there!

For me it was the fact that guilds were still great during this expansion. If you were in a good guild you could get just about anything done. It was a lot of fun and I think you'd need that strong social aspect to return. I Mainly play Classic HC now and some of the guilds there are great. Stepping into Hellfire Peninsular through the portal back then was indeed epic, the build up to it, the opening of the portal, the whole thing.

I played on Atlantiss Netherwing back in 2019 prior to Classic launch, and they did a dang good job. But experiencing TBC Classic through the official launch was fantastic!!

IMO tbc was peak raiding from the first three xpacs (haven't bothered with the rest), classic raids feel too easy (with the exception of naxx and some aq40 bosses), and most wrath raids are plain boring (the exceptions being ulduar and icc). I'd love to give it another shot, specially since during tbc classic I stuck up with bad guilds which couldn't clear content, hope I can get to clear them someday

you will never get what you want by you I mean the "classic community" because you all want different things and will fight among yourselves without much done. some want tbc era, some want tbc+, some want mop classic, some want mop era, some want wrath talents but classic content but new content, nut no new spells, some want new spells but not the SoD spells, some want retail spells but no the models. You see what Im getting at. This is blizzards fault anyways for listening to the "classic community" in the first place. now whatever gimmicky game mode they release will just keep fragmenting theiir base no matter what (hc, SoD, era, classic +, some changes but not These changes). As someone who raids weekly on Classic Era, I wouldn't see TBC as something that "replaces" my Classic Era play. TBC (in my mind) serves as an additional option with the ability to experience iconic and fulfilling raids. Arena provides a good place for PvP, but Vanilla open world PvP > Outland open world PvP.

Its pretty unfortunate, I feel bad for the people who really enjoy TBC but it was (purely numbers wise) the worst performing of the classic releases. I'm not a huge TBC fan but I'd probably still give it a shot just as something to do.

Looking at Ironforge.pro, TBC had the lowest "maximum" number of raiders during the xpac for any given week. BUT the low point in raiders for TBC (other than the first two weeks of launch) is greater than the low point in raiders for Wrath. The floor feels higher for TBC in my mind. But perhaps this is due to more competitive alternatives. SoM was out during TBC but didnt have any where near the attraction that SoD has. Regardless, doesn't change my love for TBC! :)

@@DestroxDaybreak yeah I mean you nailed it, between HC, SoD, Era, at the very end of a pretty boring raid tier in wrath at the very end of its life cycle it makes sense its got a lower floor but all blizz cares about is the peak. It is a shame, TBC was fun, even if not my favourite. Hopefully TBC fans get something soon. I think cata is ultimately a mistake even though I'm gonna give it a try.
