Wes is just as entertaining of a guy to watch as Derek no doubt about it, and he's just being himself so it feels genuine, not trying to be another vgg or something

There are lots of VGG ripoff channels out there with the same “sItTiNg FoR 69 yEaRs WiLl It RuN aNd DrIvE 420 MiLeS ?!?!” style videos. Complete Toilet Garage is not one of those channels.

I enjoyed this video. It brought back memories of when I did the engine swap on my old 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Custom Cruiser Station Wagon back in 2020. My neighbors had nicknamed my old wagon "the crop-duster" because it burned so much oil it would leave a cloud of smoke that would cover the entire neighborhood when I drove it. I could drive it anywhere as long as I brought cases of motor oil with me to keep it filled with oil as it would burn off oil through the tailpipe as I drove... LOL! It was burning oil so bad it would leave oil droplets on the windshields of vehicles driving directly behind me on the highway. Which seriously annoyed other drivers. I could hear them cussing! Finally in 2020 I found a clean good running used remanufactured 307 V8 engine at a salvage yard that was pulled from a wrecked 1990 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Custom Cruiser for $1300. The engine probably only had around 50K since rebuilt and still had the sticker on the side of the block that identified it as "remanufactured for General Motors" dated in 2000. After I got the newer engine home in my shop, I removed the timing cover and the oil pan and replaced the timing gears and chain. Because the old timing chain had a little slack from 50k miles, so I installed a new Timing chain and gears I ordered from Amazon. Then I replaced all the gaskets for the timing cover and the oil pan and installed a new water pump, new fuel pump on the replacement engine. I also replaced the valve cover gaskets and the EGR Valve. I plugged the smog holes on the heads with bolts and totally deleted the smog pump & deleted the Catalytic Convertor. I rebuilt the Rochester Quadri Jet 4 barrel & had a transmission mechanic rebuild the original 2004R Transmission...after i pulled the old 307 engine and transmission out of the car. Then I installed the newer 307 V8 with my rebuilt 2004r transmission in the car with new engine mounts and etc. After I got the car put back together and running, I had to do more work on it because the old metal fuel lines under the car started leaking gas in 3 different places under the car. So, I had to replace all the metal fuel lines & had to clean out the gas tank and install a new sending unit & float and filter. It took me approximately 2 years to get it done. Finally in 2022 I finally got it completed and back on the road. Now in 2024, I am still driving the wagon it as it's a reliable daily driver now.. runs like a champ & doesn't smoke whatsoever! Last year I upgraded the exhaust system with a Flow master muffler.

Cracks on the precombustion chambers on indirect injection diesels are to be expected, and they’re ok as long as they don’t extend past where the head gasket seals.

It even has the belt squeal my last one had. I changed the water pump with some AZ junk and after that belts squeal after every start. I didn't have time to get back to it, I assume the hub on the water pump was pressed on to wrong depth and all the belts were out of alignment.

Since you don't run pcv valve I assume to help your junk carbs work better. Why not put an exhaust dump on that 307? Might pep it up a little n make it last even longer. 😂 you got yourself a great car if your running stolen plates or your liscene is suspended. Escape n evade baby

since the 350 diesel is dead, I would pick up a 6.2 or 6.5 diesel to swap in there. still a mediocre GM diesel, but its an upgrade over the 5.7 diesel.
