I soooo hope you just saved me a ton of work under the dash. I traced out the wiring this morning and it seems good and I was getting ready to start ripping the dash apart to get to the heater box. NOW, I'm heading to the shop to try exactly what you just demonstrated. Thanks!

I hope it does too. Often times this method works. Good luck!

Hi Michael, thanks for your videos! I will try this first. Could a defect fuse also be the reason for the blower not to work!? Greetings from Germany!

I just found your channel. Thank you for all of your videos. I have a 1970 280s w108 and my heater fan works, but blows the fuse every time I use it. As you know, that fuse is the same as the brake lights. Its the correct size fuse. Would lubrication of the squirrel cage possibly help with the blower needing less draw and not blow the fuse, or am I looking at a different problem? Thanks for your help! I appreciate you sharing your knowledge of these wonderful cars!

Yes, I think the bushings in the fan have gotten to be too tight. For that reason it's probably using too much juice to operate. Try lubricating it.

Hi, my fan only runs on the 4th level. Do you think this is the same Problem? Thanks so much for your great Videos !!!

No, a bound-up fan would not cause that. If your fan is only running at one speed it's most likely a problem with the switch.

Hi there. What direction are you rotating the cage? And did you apply Wd-40 or something else?

Honestly, I can't remember, but the direction does not matter. Do not use WD-40. You can use any type of liquid lube that has grease in it, like lithium.
