Uncovering The Secrets Of My Auctioned Wrecked Fiesta - Has It Been Repaired Before?
I've bought a wrecked Fiesta Mk7.5 from an auction, but something doesn't look right, has it been repaired before? Is it a Lemon? What have I bought? What secrets does it hold?
After spending thousands on the Audi S1 I can't sell it, And the Transit project rusting to bits in the corner. I thought it was time for a new project but things just don't seem right, and I need to investigate further. Once again have I made a mistake?

I have to agree, it’s a “LEMON” I would just sell it as is and hope that you can cover your outlay, you just can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you’ve already had your fingers burnt , too many times, I feel for you, I really do. 👍

Did you not run a car vertical check on the vehicle before purchasing it mate? May not of shown up previous repairs but at least seen mileage and MOT history on the vehicle? Hope it’s not too bad

Get it back through the auction, cut your losses. This car will cause you more headaches than you require. Dodgy Dave been working again by the looks of it…. As another channel would say, it’s been doctored ! Car vertical check might not go a miss on this one? Take care

That’s really unlucky finding it’s been mucked about with but at least it appears mechanically good. I would fix the front end using a bonnet and bumper in colour preferably and spend a bit of time removing the overspray you’ve spotted. Then I’d wet sand and polish the poor paint. It doesn’t have to be perfect just tidy. Good luck.

Top advice - as long as the car is safe it’ll do someone a good turn once front fixed and bad bodywork smartened up a bit

Move it on quick that car will never look right witout a lot of work. Clean it up a bit make it look as respectfull as you can and move it. And please do a car vertical check if you buy any more damaged vehicles; spend some doing as many checks as you can. Dont ever buy a salvage vehicle blind; the previos repare on that car is awfull. The damage has been caused by a greedy scumbag 'flipper' who's done the minimum to bodge a repair to grab a profit! This is the worse of 'copart flipping' by unscrupulous amateurs!

I agree but it wasn't from Copart. You could buy a car like this anywhere so it's definitely worth checking a car over before you buy it. 😉

My current car I had a proper check on, all green no issues, just before I handed over the money I had another check, again all clear, replaced the front control arms, found some damage, mooching about inside I found some glass, further checking revealed more damage, the car was a accident damaged but not recorded, its a massive problem, especially on auction sites, you buy something and find out its not what you thought it was, have you asked the auction site about the other issues. Seems like it was not advertised correctly, I don't hold any faith in any checking vehicle history sites they, no matter how much you pay, as far as I am concerned they are complicit with auction houses and insurance companies to keep the whole used car trade going.

Totally agree buddy there's loads of cars out there with unrecorded damage. I don't like paying for checks but sometimes it can really help. But like you said sometimes it doesn't even show. That's when you really need to see the car rather than look at pictures. Auction sites are sold as see so no come backs on them.

Fiestas are nice cars. Plenty of parts around. Maintain costs low and keep in mind you're fixing, not restoring. You'll be fine and in profit! Best of luck! Cheers!

Lemon. Break it and move on. Why not buy a small first time car that needs minor repairs. A handy money cheap to insurance car is always good to sell. Good look .

It was supposed to be a cheap small first car it's only a 1.2 petrol, the better engine, not the eco 💥 .The was really dirty in the pictures so you couldn't see the poor paint job. It will still be a nice cheap little car once it's been repaired. Thanks for watching 👀

Something that needs disc ,pads and a couple of ball joints sorting and a few stone chips and a valet. Bad to find at the minute but there about. Keep costs low repair make look ok don't go over board and then put up for sale with small profit but a profit , and move on always more out there to continue plus very cheap parts for most fords ,

I always check the mileage on the Mot history before I pull the trigger. It's around the 70k. The damage isn't that bad really just cosmetic. It would cost to much to put into auction

Of all the issues, the one most obvious to a potential buyer is the dash mileage. Also maybe somebody was trying to change the miles - mot at end May 2022 was 69k.

I don't think it's been tampered with just the display has gone. I checked the Mot history before buying its got nice low mileage and hopefully a dashboard cluster will fix the issue

Hmmmm, tough one - see what’s hiding behind the bumpers first. Then, if both ends are “reasonable”, colour coded bumpers, wet sand/flat off the paint, lick of lacquer, and wet clean the interior…..and of course the tyre(s). If you can't return it it to the auction for being "not as described" then get going fixing it up. Popular cars, plentiful parts, hopefully youve got enough meat on the bone to sell it with a decent discount for the buyer and a decent margin for you. Once you've sold it, cancel your auction subscription and buy MOT failures on market place or local ads, there's always extra headaches on auction cars, been there, done that, local cars you can go kick the tyres on. Keep the faith !

I'd be getting rid of it just for the fact there's been damage on the a pillars and roof and you don't know how bad it was and looking at the repairs they didn't look to be skilled lol if it was just the doors then that be different as you could try wet sanding those and machine polishing and they probably come out ok or atleast to a presentable stage for you to sell it. Such a shame as the damage at front looks minimal and looked like a car you could quickly turn around. The way you got look at it is who would buy that once you've finished it cause I think you'll find many won't when theyve seen this video as no one knows how much of the structural integrity of the car as been comprised and to know you'd need take screen out and grind all the a pillars and front edge of the roof down to see if it's just damaged the outer skin or if it's it's gone deeper and affected the structural part of the frame.
