Revo OS .18TZ modified 15T 38T gearing testing

@aonixer6 the one with theaded crank and that use an adaptor can use the traxxas nut, or the .178TM crank fit on the .18TZ, but for the OS. 18TZ(p) you need a 1/8 scale flywheel nut, the traxas one , the same as on the revo, is too big and will come loose after a run. You can get an ofna one, try to find one as small as you can if you use the traxxas clutch shoes and clytchbell. BEcause the traxxas one is very thin to make room for the shoes, if you buy a too big one the shoes will be open...

@aonixer6 No it will not fit, you are looking at a pilot shaft that screw on a threaded shaft only, the TZ (p) have an onroad like crankshaft, you need part number 10097 you can mod it to fit well, you also want to make sure its not too long when you put the clutchbell on it. So the shoes entirely sit inside the clutchbell... :)

@aonixer6 yeah you just need to grind them to let the clutchbell sit closer to the flywheel. im not sure if you can use a pilot shaft then, i think its screwed., your best bet is to order the .18TM crank and grind the end of the crank so it doesnt hit the backplate of the TZ(p)

@aonixer6 Ok, from what i can see, if you have the threaded shaft only, you need to run a SG pilot shaft, but you will need to run a 1/8 scale clutch setup. And move the transmission forward a little. Unless you have the TZ (p)

@aonixer6 You just need a clutch nut, go on towerhobbies and type in the search bar ''clutch nut'' But if you use the stock shoes and clutchbell, the shoes might not close completly, you may need to mod the nut to help the shoes, or just use a 1/8 scale clutchbell, flywheel, shoes.... and move the transmission forward, you may already need to move it slightly forward to have a proper gear mesh...

@nitromad48 The trinitydont offer a lot of rpm, what i used is the big block trinity header(that came with your trinity pipe set) and used the stock blue 2 chamber revo pipe (the one with the first revo 3.3 when it came out) Its been the best setup i used. :)

@MikePeperni Prob solved I think...I removed my crankshaft and brought it at a construction company and they will make the crankshaft fit the tra4144 clutch nut adapter :-)

Its already on lower ride height, lowest spring preload, purple springs and 80Wt shock oil.

@aonixer6 No problem :) yeah i know lol very busy and im looking to buy a triplex so RCs is not my priority for now, but i plan on testing the ABmods drag mod OS.28XZ in the revo on a bashing gearing to see what how it runs, got 75mph on speed runs with this engine and could probably do 77mph with luck but i want to change the setup .... so i might post a new vid soon. :)

@MikePeperni okay I will use stock shoes and clutchbell for now....I read on forums that u can mod the shoes to let the close completely or maybe I'll just do the mod on the clutch nut...I only want a clutch nut that wil fit!! the rest I can use my brain and mod it by my self :P but thanks for the fast reply mike ur a good rc guy :D

@aonixer6 Keep both head shims with stock engine on 30%, and keep the P3 plug, and yeah theres more throttle resposne than on teh 3.3 for sure hehe :)

@aonixer6 Yeah it has some great throttle response :) the best plug to run is the one that came with, the ultra hot. Even if you run 30% nitro. :)

@aonixer6 Alright :) Around tank 15 you will be able to tune it for performance. :) With the drag mod i done wich is very similar to ABmods drag mod bashing non-stop at WOT i got around 8.5 minutes of runtime. But the power is just nuts, it went from 43-44mph to 50mph with just the mod and a big block header and stock revo tuned pipe (the blue one that came with the original revo..) :)

@aonixer6 First i need to know if you really have a TZ (p) , if the only thing that came out of teh crankcase is a threaded shaft, you dont have a TZ(p) the TZ(p) have a crankshaft like the 3.3 , but longer, like 1/8 scale engines. If you only have the threaded shaft, then yes the part you listed is the right one.

It should fit, may be a tiny loose, you will need to seal it. but the 11k carb is better. (TZ carb..) :)

Bigger clutchbell = more top speed, smaller spur gear= top speed. id run 19T 38T maximum with that engine :)

@aonixer6 Just make sure its a 1/8 scale flywheel nut and it will fit, you can use RC8 nuts, mugen etc... doesnt matter as soon as you can make it fit with the stock shoes :) no problem for the help, if you need a mod let me know i can mod it for you or you can senmd it to ABmods. Its a total new animal on 15t 38t :)

The prob is that we only have 1 good lhs all the others lhs are crap and the "good lhs" they don't have ofna parts :@ mostly traxxas, losi, hpi, team associated are in there shop and that sucks!! I don't wanna wait 2-3 weeks for 1 small part :S that's why I wanna know if the TRA4844 will fit because maybe they have this nut at mu lhs

The TZ is quicker, easier to tune, and pretty reliable. Id get the TZ over the 3.3

hi mike love the revo but I have the same one and it only hits 20-30 mph and I have the same gearing do you think it might be because I dont have the right transmitter

Depend what the engine is doing, is it reving high and feel like something is sliping? or the engine cut-out or just dont rev high? is it a new engine? if yes it may just be the linkage that is binding or need adjustment.

@MikePeperni yeah I run the p3 plug but here in my country it's expensive :S It's $14 a piece @ LHS!! And I bought the last one LOL funny thing is there is only 1 real LHS in my country :S...I'm running 30% torco fuel and I love that fuel I bought a whole case from torco dealer in the usa they only sell trx 33% and sidewinder 20% here. my LHS sucks!!! haha

Hey Mike I have a Revo with an Axial .28rr 38T spur gear and 17T clutch I'm tring to get more top end should I go with a 14T or 22T clutch the gear ratio is it based on the highest or the lower divison for more top end

@MikePeperni hey mike I think I just destroyed my .18tz shaft :-( on one of ur other vid u replied on someones comment that u have to GRIND 2 threads but what I did was I CUT the shaft 2 threads...I modded my the way they mod the os.18tz-tx onto the revo but I have the .18tz(p)....I didn't know that u had to grind is...sigh damn man now what?? can I drill and make the tra4144 threads the size of the .18tz shaft or make the .18tz threads smaller so it will fit the tra4144?? U think it will work??
