I’m so used to the workflow of melodyne I couldn’t get comfortable in RV Pro even though some of the tools are really cool. I use it on every vocal for manually turning down breathes and sibilance, even if I don’t tune anything. I also use my right click on everything in Melo instead of the top tool bar. It’s maybe not quite as fast as RV but every option is available, which is definitely faster than going up and down the screen.

Same. My Melodyne workflow is lightning. All quick keys and contextual right-clicking. RV looks so sloooow to me. But it's just whatever you're used to. I have tens of thousands of hours on Melodyne.

if you want to jump around the top tool bar in Melodyne, you can use your number keys 1, 2, 3, 4

Additionally, Melodyne has pretty much the exact zooming feature by dragging your mouse in the window; maybe Matt didn't realize it.

We use melodyne shortcuts. We never go to menu anyways. I mean. … pros use shortcuts. Melodyne is super fast with the shortcuts guys and super detailed work. Yoy can really take whack vocals and take them to the next level. You cant do it with repitch without artifacts.

The segment on shortcuts was cut for time. Thank you for your concern.

Guys there is a reason melodyne wont let you just move things over. Its to avoid artifacts . You gotto cut nicely first and move it. What do i get when I just move things over on repitch? I get artifacts. I m sorry but this program cant really compete with melodyne.

How did you find where the "Pitch Center" was?
@WeissAdvice3 ай бұрын
I hum it in my head. It "locks" when it's right. Or at least right enough.

It's REALLY too bad that Melodyne doesn't add a De-Verb function with its included harmonics features. Such a wasted opportunity.

I feel like if you really want to get deep into pop vocals revoice is just superior. You can really just create the perfect take. Melodyne has insane workflow when the performance is already 80% there, but it falls short when you actually need to FIX something.

Revoice Pro interface is the worst ever, so hard to see and follow. Melodyne is clear as a bell.
@johntwigg76503 ай бұрын
I have both and rarely use Revoice pro because of that dang horrible GUI.

Revoice or Repitch? Revoice has a learning curve but I think Repitch way clearer than Melodyne.

@@WeissAdvice Revoice Pro, their flagship. The interface sucks ass, it is the absolute worst, it's like a child with severe difficulties designed it. I know many agree because I've discussed on many forums and so many agree, and those are people, like me that have unloaded their hard earned cash on it. Revoice Pro absolutely sucks.

@@WeissAdvice Video title says ReVoice and you have used that repeatedly in your dialog, but video shows RePitch. Hence the confusion.

Yeah, Revoice Pro UI is definitely the worst, it sucks. It's like an old fashioned green screen, just awful. I just don't want to use it and it's so expensive! I much prefer Melodyne, the UI is almost perfect. I can't see how anyone could possibly say the audio quality is better on RePitch or Revoice Pro. That seems like a silly and unquantifiable thing to say. I bet nobody has any real evidence for this.
@bro.sweets45833 ай бұрын
are you getting paid for producing vocals production for from that artist?? I don't want anyone to believe this is what a mix engineer do for free
@WeissAdvice3 ай бұрын
Oh, absolutely. I don't itemize but I build the fees directly into my rate, along with alt prints, studio fee, and a whole host of other stuff. Only itemization I do with labels at this point is Atmos and mastering.

Melodyne has no proper dark mode. Just for that, game over. That's often the problem with old pioneer software (like Melodyne or Cubase): great yet convoluted functionality, and looks like software from the 90s.

I do think the audio quality is slightly better in Repitch. One thing I wish Repitch could do is highlighting non-contiguous notes. Not a huge deal, but if I'm tuning to 0 cents I often will do first past and leave the entrance/exit to notes alone which takes slightly longer in Repitch vs Melodyne.
@davidcache25 күн бұрын
repitch is too laggy to be usable.

Melodyne definitely has an older UI. It's definitely due for an update.

I’ve never come across any serious discussion arguing that Revoice Pro even comes close to Melodyne to be honest. I have both the full products and never bothered using Revoice Pro cos it is unusable with the interface an all. It certainly doesn’t sound better, that’s just daft talk.

Trying doing it blind. Throw in Waves Tune and Autotune too while you're at it. You might be surprised what you end up preferring.
