OMG, this movie was absolutely AMAZING and is a must-watch. 5 out of 5 is too low to give this movie musical. All future Hollywood movie musicals must follow Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical lead.

I mean yes its very good the music, setup, clothing, scenery and all is a 10/10 but it sorta strays away from the main message the original Matilda had. I wish the movie could've kept that same aspect of Matilda being a smart young girl finding comfort in books due to her getting very little attention at home and her rebelling against mean adults though.

Dahl's stories are timeless but dark and takes a lot to really understand all its weirdness. Adapting Matilda into musical is the best thing ever done to his stories. Songs in musicals help us connect to the emotional depth of the characters and the story. This was brilliantly done and we need more like this because here's a planet full of incredibly talented kids and just watch them - they're loving it.

Way better than 1990s version! they didnt have the cheography, singing, rhythm, vocals, talent, organization, etc. The producers transformed a classical story into an amazing, addicted entertainment! I don't care what other people think, but, I honestly think that Alisha Weir and Charlie Hodson-Prior give an outstanding performance as Matilda Wormwood and Bruce Bogtrotter, and the choreography during the ''Revolting Children'' sequence is absolutely amazing and incredible, fare play to those new actors doing the fantastic dancing and singing.

I remember when this musical came out the same time as Kinky Boots did on Broadway. People were saying that this was the better musical of the two based on the storyline and music. I didn’t really believe it until I saw the Tony Awards. I’m not gonna lie: seeing “Revolting Children” performed compared to what Kinky Boots had to give, I thought for sure, that Matilda the Musical was gonna sweep the categories. Either way, it was a close race from the get go.

I'm sorry but I've seen nobody say anything about it and it's eating away at me, there's just something so sad about a child needing to be convinced by their mother that they are loved. It's a depressing thought to need to be convinced your loved, especially when your just a child. Yet, at the same time there's triumph in him as he sings, saying that he will never doubt his mom's love for him, and this is coming from a kid! I know of adults who think their parents don't fully love them! Being able to acknowledge the love of a mother despite everything and letting yourself be loved is pretty mature imo. The simultaneous admission of both doubting a mother's love and accepting it as truth is both heart wrenching yet hopeful.
