I resolved it by reinstalling the app - when I started it up I was introduced to the welcome bonus

Glad it's working for you now! I'll pin this comment in case others run into the same issue.

I think valuing the revpoint at 1p is better if you're an avid traveller as you can often get 1p of value per avios. I'm curious about the 2p per rev point on stays though. In theory it would actually make using stays worth using! Usually I find the hotels are more expensive than if I book directly or google search.

If hotels are more expensive on stays (which I easily believe), that could negate the benefit of redeeming rev points, even at 2p per point though.

When you round up with spare change to get revpoints, does that rounded-up money go away in exchange for points? As in, are we paying for revpoints?
@LoyaltyLlama25 күн бұрын
Yes, you get 50 points for every £1 you give up in round-ups. It's equivalent to buying points at 2 pence per point, which doesn't seem like a good deal.

I’ve got around 80,000 points, do you think it’s better for me to convert them? Or save them
@LoyaltyLlama2 ай бұрын
It may be better to spend them sooner rather than later! As with any currency, points are prone to devaluation. And wow, you already managed to rack up 80K Revolut points?

@@LoyaltyLlamaI’ve converted them into Avios points, hope I don’t regret it as Revolut Pay is rolling out more features but still not much to spend on

Until recently I had a BA prepaid master card, loved and used it as my everyday card, unfortunately the scheme has now ended rather abruptly. I would love an Amex, but that's never going to happen. So this will be a plausible option. However, the lack of a companion voucher will put people off, or can they pay their amex bill with their debit card and thoretically get points twice? Thanks for the video!

Yeah, Revolut can't really compete with dedicated Avios cars (like BAPP with their companion voucher). I see it more as a fallback option that can complement a credit card rather than replace it (unless e.g. you have Ultra and buy in into the whole Revolut ecosystem). Unfortunately, paying off your credit card bill won't generate any points. I suspect that falls under "cash like transactions" in their T&Cs: www.revolut.com/legal/RevPoints/

Is my calculation correct if 1 Avios point = 0.05 pence if I spent £6000 I get £300 worth of Revolut points / Avois points. Did I use the right pence value or is it 0.005 pence = £30 worth of avois after spending £6000. I hope you can help thanks!
@LoyaltyLlama2 ай бұрын
If you assume that 1 Avios = £0.005 (i.e. half a pence), which is exactly the value you get if you spend Avios via Nectar, then spending £6000 will get you £30 worth of Avios (assuming Revolut gives you 1 point / £ spent). This is equivalent to 0.5% cashback. Hope this helps!

Can you use this to pay off an Amex credit card?

Yes, but that won't earn any points, unfortunately, as it falls under "cash like transactions" in their T&Cs: www.revolut.com/legal/RevPoints/

Good idea from revolut but awful conversion for avios 😅
@LoyaltyLlama5 ай бұрын
Do you mean the 1 Avios per £10 on the standard plan? I guess it's expensive to offer rewards on a debit card though.
