+JHouse171 (Son of Liberty) I just checked out your channel and realized that I watched all of those videos of your without noticing! Except the ACW one of course. I really want to reenact, but one thing that I fear is the question if the reenacting community is shrinking. I've read many articles confirming it, and my uncle told me the reason is that the Federal government is making black powder a lot harder to get (He's a hardcore southern sympathizer who use to reenact for a living, stopped due to old age when he got a heat stroke. He is seen in the movie of Gettysburg, Glory, and Gods and Generals. He used to be in the 11th MS group most of the time.) Back to topic, what is your input on all of this? This is something that just really scares me and discourages me to reenact, fearing my expectations of a real like battle will not be met.

+deathfromasian Yes that is true, I'm a re-enactor myself (medieval 14th century but still) and yes the majority like armour/clothes you have to provide yourself as it has to fit you and costs a lot. Weapons, if someone in the group has something spare laying around you can usually borrow it until you have bought/made whatever it is you are borrowing yourself.

Sir Monkeys actually no, young kids and such as teen can do reenactment, muskets cannons explosions, smokes.. Did you think about music? Drummer, burglar, fifer, bag pipe, other instrument that is used. So size doesn't matter in these type of reenactment.. As long if you know what role fit you.

Since your 15, you wont be able to use the musket yet, although we always could use people on the artillery crew and musicians! I would suggest emailing our recruiter Chip! Here is his email: njcashman@gmail.com Explain your situation and he can lead you in the right direction. My last word of advise would be to visit an event to meet some people. It helps to see faces before you join. Our next event is the battle of Germantown (October 3rd)

Typically in reenactments, the side that is going to win doesn't really wanna die.

If you want to win I would suggest to be with America(in a battle like this).

+oludumile He probably wouldn't, because I would think he's British due to his profile picture, and all the reenactments he's done.

+Braden Gradwell, If you watch earlier on in the video, at several points he was dumping black powder because his musket was misfiring, either due to a loose flint, or bad spring, or any number of things. The thing to do in a re-enactment situation is if your musket has misfired three times or more then you're technically DEAD. That's the rule.
