It did happen. This project was spun out into a new company called Pict Offshore, which was invested in by Orsted, the world's largest developer of offshore windfarms. In the past few years, they have deployed the system onto their largest offshore windfarm (Hornsea 2 in the UK) and 3 new windfarms in the USA.
