There's something about the shape of the cars that appeals especially if you had the chance to see them back in the day. Great video DAVE! I am still waiting for both of my Bob Sharp Racing BRE 510 preorders to arrive. I grew up watching Bob Sharp's BRE Datsun Team race the American SCCA race series at quite a few to the Midwest and North Eastern tracks as a kid. Bob is a six time SCCA Champion between 1967 - 1975. Most of us know Bob also race the 240Z, but he raced the Datsun SRJ311, 260Z, 280Z and 610 too (Revo - hint, hint for another body). I had both cars as a kid with my old AFX track and now I can't wait to run them again as the oldest kid in the house, better know as grandpa :D - Again, great video and thanks!

Thanks for the review Dave! I am awaiting my two here in the states. Great cars! Not sure why they didn't put the wipers on, but some or their recent releases, they have done the same with the side mirrors. I do wish they were installed, as I am afraid of mucking it up. That would be my only peeve, which is minor.

They put the side mirrors on the early CLK GTRs, the latest ones they've been put in yourself but they did at least make the holes, this one has no holes

Great one Dave. My pair of the Blue 35 and the Stars & Stripes 52 dropped at home yesterday but I have not yet been able to run them. Yes, the do look like an inspired choice from Revoslot. The No 52 is a bit different on the front end with no front bumper or fender which gives it a more aggressive look which I quite like. There is, already, a white kit if people want to do their own albeit I am not sure where we could source Paul Newman decals? From what I have seen then most race liveries appear to have been variations on the red, white and blue and so we may well suspect Revo will get creative, if 'Martini' passes as creative (?), in due course? Now I have not run mine yet but your impression informs that these could well prove as best in class as racers? The Alpha started all these off and their red or gold four light gta iterations are well worth a look into too. I do wonder just how many of this series have we had now and, as you inform, what is next? I would like some Revo GT40s myself.

Ah Dave, cracking vid as ever 👍🏻 I’d been looking forward to your usual historical background though, because as a late 80s/90s child I don’t understand why these cars cause such a flutter in the loins of the rest of the slot car community. I’m currently ignorant to the Datsun’s charms, but had been open to some Dave-based education!

There's a few snippets in some of the other guys comments, but essentially the Peter Brock team Datsun 510s took on the giants of the Trans Am series in 1971 and pretty much decimated the field :) Someone more fanatical about North American saloon car racing will take this story up in the coming days I'm sure
