Dave, a really good looking car and the livery is great for a Repsol car and unusual. Love the look of the wheels as well. I don't have a Revoslot car in my collection yet but I'm definitely going to get one next week as I'm very impressed with the quality and standard of finish and they really do seem to have the edge on scalextric and although I like the Fly cars they need a lot of preparation before they are ready for the track. Keep up the good work you do and hope to see you again soon. Regards and thank you. Michael 👍

Thanks for a great review Dave. I now have 2 GT2’s and they both run superbly on my Scalextric track. A bit noisy but I think that this can be solved with a bit of Duck tape or similar. With the chassis being metal, the weight is exactly where you need it.. at the bottom of the car.

Great review and history bit, love that part. How many Revoslot 911s is too many, I cant stop buying them, ugh.

Brilliant! I’ve got the Apple livery in matte black with rainbow apple and the martini sliver as well. Also I have a Marlboro evo1. Revos are crazy good slot cars. Nice video.

Looks absolutely stunning! 💯 Good to know that they work well on the track with a shallow guide as I can run that at home and at the club.

Very impressive Dave. Straight from the box to the track with no tuning, and it runs fantastic.
@slotr Жыл бұрын
Yeah I did nothing, the front axle height was perfect, the amount of float built into it the way it is set up out the box just suits my track really well. If this was the experience new folks got when they got a home set out of the box, the hobby would last longer than a week at Christmas for so many more people

Yes, these are great cars. I think the bigger wheels help over the other more recent moulds. It would be good if Revo were to make the more up to date RSR GT3 shell as this '911' version is a little too 'sit up and beg' with the cockpit for my liking. Moreover, Revo keep knocking up new liveries for these. I have the 'Pink Pig' and the 'Jagermeiister' and whilst yours looks good against a black backdrop in the marketing shots I do feel it looks a bit too busy in the cold light of day. Nevertheless, a great car. I'm preferring the NSR Porsche 997 to these, mind. Maybe the Scaleauto one is good too?

The lap time is only interested for you, but for others we need to know how many meters is your track and what voltage do you run on then we can figure out how many meters pr. Sec your cars run. And that way it is possible to compare. All the best from another nerd.

Whey is Revo slot cars gears run so hard they sound hard I bought the escort MK1 jackemylster hand it just sound hard
@slotr Жыл бұрын
The Escort has the 12 tooth pinion in it which was a mistake, the others in that range (BMW and Alfa) run the 9 tooth pinion which is much less harsh sounding. Also check your gear mesh and adjust, even with the 12 tooth pinion if it's adjusted right it quietens down quite a lot, most people change the pinion gear, Area 51 Raceway and HomeRacingWorld have videos about this subject

@@slotr Not yet, but it's on my list. BTW, I have 3 Revoslot's (running on Carrera track) and I would appreciate any tuning tips you have, because mine don't appear to run as well as yours do in your vids. I can drop you my email if that works?
@slotr Жыл бұрын
@@markkramer4471 I don't do a huge amount to any of them. They key for me is those Shore 30 tyres I never do motor driven sanding on them, they overheat and marble up too easily. I hand sand off any obviously high bits and then run them for 15-20 mins at a regular speed, nothing too slidey ( i set them as a ghost car on the digital ) once that's done the motor should be freed up and the rear tyres will be pretty round. The fronts will have some wear marking on them on the high points, continuing to run them will sort that out or you can help it by hand. Then it's case of getting the guide height right and a little bit of float. Check out Area 51 Raceway NC and Homeracing World channels, they ahve some great tuning videos for the Mk2 Escort, the same principles apply to all Revoslots :)
@markkramer4471 Жыл бұрын
@@slotr Thanks for taking the time to share the tips Dave. I'll get to work on this.
@slotr Жыл бұрын
@@markkramer4471 I do put a lot of laps on my Revoslots, I bought spare tyres with the new car and I'm on my third set of rears on all three of the smaller Revos I've got so there's quite a lot of Revo rubber laid down on my track and beyond a quick whiz over with the hoover to take the dust off, I don't clean my track and only run rubber tyres, you can see the rubber on the track quite clearly in some places. This really helps the grip levels for all the cars I've got, even the harder Carrera tyres seem to work better since I've been putting Revo rubber down :)
