Took MT-10 for demo ride last year only because it was the only one available at the moment. I really didn't care about it but, wow, what great bike it was. @@TK-cl1jm Well, MT-10 is naked while Ninja sx is sport touring. As such, I definitely prefer ninja in sx trim. It has more features and looks more finished and cool. Both engines feel fantastc. I'm 100% the demo for the rider nannies. I'm not a massive fan of the dash (I have a 2018 GSXR1000, and I'm happy with that basic dash), but I like the rider aides. Essentially, I don't trust myself with that much power, but still enjoy experiencing it, so the extra peace of mind is crucial for me. I'm sorry that people like me are making these bikes less "pure", but I'm not sorry enough to stop demanding it. FWIW, I also have a 2019 MT09 and I would agree that the new MT09 electronics are perhaps an unnecessary extra expense in that case. But, the MT10 is a different animal, and I specifically didn't buy the last model because of the rudimentary electronics.

I've a 2018 I bought new and my fuel usage is so different from yours/this new model that it seems just crazy. I get in the 25's to 28's mpg in mixed riding situations. I spend so much time at a gas station compared to anything I've had in the past and, I've had many, many bikes. However, this is possibly my favorite to date having come off a 2017 Super Duke. I find the bike so comfortable with the addition of a sport windscreen and a Corbin saddle which gives both me and my grandsons additional leg room. I find the twitchy throttle much more progressive and predictable in lower gears compared to the Duke. I noticed they went for a jar instead of the lower profile metal front brake reservoir on this model (don't like) and got rid of some of the plastic embellishments giving the bike a cleaner appearance. I love my large black and white instrument screen and still have the stock mirrors for which I must pull in my elbows for a clear rear view. I found your last segment at the board just a hoot. It was as if a stand-up comic was holding back and presenting a well thought out summary . . . it was definitely so much fun to watch.

I live in the UK. I wish all bikes had a speed limiter feature like this. It’s great. Most motorways (highways) around here are 70mph but they’re introducing all sorts of ways to catch you out including: * speed cameras every few miles * speed cameras during roadworks * average speed cameras during roadworks (usually 50mph and if you exceed that over, say, 10 miles, you get a ticket). Cruise control is great but our roads are too busy - ultimately you need adaptive cruise control otherwise you’ll be constantly turning it on/off/on/off as you ride. The speed limiter, therefore, is perfect, as it means I can set it to the legal limit of 70mph, ride normally with the throttle in traffic, and not going over the limit and worry about trigging a camera. That said, while I am generally in favour of speed cameras on smaller roads, I think it’s absolutely dangerous to put them on motorways as people keep speeding anyway but now just brake heavily for the cameras, and if there’s an accident and they drop the speed limit down to 40mph it means potentially I have to brake hard in heavy traffic to avoid getting a ticket. It’s dangerous, it’s stupid, and I feel extremely vulnerable in the car when I have to do that and it’s 100x worse on a bike.
@lucianomc2 жыл бұрын
14:24 I have the bike and live in Europe and, sadly, the speed limiter is not absolutely necessary but a good thing to have. This bike makes you go fast without being even noticed and there are way too many speed cameras here. All the efforts the government makes are to take as much money as possible from drivers so you must take real care with that. Great video as always! ✌️✌️

I’ll probably regret saying good buy to the Beemer as it makes me feel alive every time I ride it but I also feel a little silly riding a 200hp bike on the roads so the MT10 it is but will go for the SP version for the added rear suspension and braided lines. Now all I will need to do is get over it’s looks and poor fuel economy but hey, it’s good to break up the rides with stops and you don’t look at the bike when you’re riding it.. Variable speed limiter...I'm from the UK and my car has it. I don't use it much as it seems a bit like an answer to yesterday's problem. I can't speak for wider Europe, but in the UK there are a lot of GATSO speed cameras: which use radar to detect a vehicle, then take 2 photos a set distance apart and record the speed - leading to a penalty if its over the posted limit. A while back, you'd see strings of these along prolonged stretches of motorway (highway) with construction, where the limit had dropped from 70 to 50 or 40. The feature works well there as it stops you day-dreaming or picking up speed down a gentle slope without realizing it and passing a GATSO. Now, these GATSO stings have been replaced by ANPR (auto number plate recognition) which picks us each vehicle along a route and works out the speed between those distant points. This means a slight creep-over can be corrected with a period of sitting under the limit, and there is no specific need to fear creeping over the limit on a set piece of road just because that is where the camera is. General cruise control works just fine here. I guess if you have a local road where traffic will mean non-radar cruise is a pain, this feature could stop you accidentally passing the camera over the limit....but seems a bit of a trade off for losing the ability to scoot past (for example a cyclist in a 30 or 40 zone) without having to deactivate something first

It’s been a few days since I watched and I had a thought about the speed limiter feature. I’ve driven in Europe quite a bit and often you’ll find stretches of twisty residential roads with speed cameras along them- very unforgiving speed cameras. So cold sport tires were new to me when I bought it along with wheelies. I’m not good at them but the lift control gave me a safety wall to learn how to be confident doing them. The traction control does interfere with them sometimes if you’re doing clutch ups. But it’s also not 100% fool proof. Every now and then you will get past it’s safety limit. So definitely don’t rely on it to save your butt all the time. I’ve heard of one person looping it on a power wheelie. Overall it’s still nice they’re there if you need them. Not everyone is as skilled as Zack Courts lol

Agreed. As far as I’m concerned, safety features that only activate when you’ve already gone too far have no downside unless you’re stupid enough to pretend they make you invincible.

If you want better brakes install Brembos new LA compound street pads. They are amazing and much better than the red SA compound pads for the street. This transforms these brakes into true two finger front brakes!!

Just want to say to let y’all know, that cross plane 4 cylinder engine is my idea that i had in 1974, it works is all i care about, sounds great on KZbin, i’m 66 years old now, and still haven’t heard the real thing run, yet!

So next spring I'm hoping (planning?) for things to work out to buy my first brand new bike. There are really 4 I'm considering: MT-09 SP, MT-10 Base, GSX-S1000GT+, and a Hayabusa. pretty diverse choices I know... If you could do a daily ride on a new 'Busa that would sure help me out!😎

go with MT10

What's your engine excitement? Cross-plane 4 (sounds and acts like a V4), a triple, a smooth flat-plane 4.....it's not just about the bikes, it has a lot to do with those engine configurations. Lots to like about all of them. I'd say the S1000GT and Hayabusa are going to be a wide smooth powerband that isn't' as raucous or fizzy as the two MT bikes. But sometimes that's a good thing. All depends on your mood and what you find most endearing over the longer run.

You're forgetting the key difference between the mt09 and mt10. The 09 is a triple, the 10 is an inline 4. Torque response is a bit different between the 2, as is the exhaust note. Which also plays a roll in curb weight handling, so on. It's not just a power perspective difference between the two.
@SethKnows Жыл бұрын
Pretty obvious difference between the two, that 99% of riders know about, including him.

Adding some tech is also a great way to motivate why a bike should be more expensive.

I know, I'm only around a year late on this. I've been looking at lot of bikes and here recently I've decided on the mt10 or maybe the tracer 9gt plus. Pretty sure I'll stick with the mt10. First two things I'll do is a Corbin seat and a nice touring windscreen. I'd really like to get the sp model. The paint scheme just sets it off. Almost forgot to mention, the guys at Revzilla are awesome!

Nice bike. I had an 09 FZ1 and I thought that was a hand full with no electronics. Quite a wild ride. Every time I look at one of these I get the urge to buy one.

Ain’t gonna lie. I was here for the wheelies (and you did not disappoint!) but there was a whole lot more and it was good. Also have to say I agree with the ranking (as far as “daily” bikes go) but the fun factor weighs heavier for me…just saying.

Superduke is down right awesome but after purchasing the electronic packages your are paying soooo much more!!! I originally put a deposit on the mt10 22 then lost my deposit because I bought a bmw s1000r instead I fell in love with how refined it is… and I’m a big s1000rr fan girl! But the point it was the same price as rhe mt10 sp even though it’s a BMW

Idk about the complexity thing...all you social media influencers and moto journalists kept going on and on this past decade about "get with the times" "it's nice but it doesn't have a color TFT" "Where are the Ride Modes?!?!" and now that a bike has those upgrades your like, "I miss when it was PURE". Like pick one and make up your mind about which direction your want manufacturers to go.

There is a difference between a bike designed to be the best on a racetrack and one that is fun on the streets. Honda used this to design the original fireblade. I usually here that the Aprilia and Ducati are faster on a track, but people have more fun ripping the MT-10 on the back roads. I think the MT-10 is the sweet spot for cost, performance, exotic feel, fractures, comfort, looks.

There is no better engine sound in motorcycling than that of an in-line four. I'm partial to the sound of a brand new, stock CB750K1, but that's just me. Thanks for another fun Daily Ride!

Awesome as usual Zack! I have the first gen and love how fun it is and characterful! So how do you think the old bike compares to the new one below 7000rpm. Which wheelies easier? I've watched your review on the original bike several times, love it man!

I never would have thought I'd be saying this, but I actually like the speed limiter idea. I still like to play with the throttle when I'm not trying to go super speed, but these bikes can end up going 120 really quick, without trying, on the shortest straight. My friend got clocked at 120 after the quickest handful of throttle. He said he was thinking "I'll just hit it up to 80 or 90". Plenty of times I've looked downd after a quick twist, expecting to see 85 or 90, only to catch it falling past 1xx. I'd probably use it all the time if quick/ easy to toggle.

Moore Mafia showed that they have massive restrictions from the factory. It’s mostly in the throttle by wire settings. Even at wide open throttle it’ll only open the throttle bodies like 40% at lower rpm’s and even up high they still only open like 88%. They pick up a a LOOOOOT of power with a good tune. And horrible brake pads is a Yamaha thing. My old FZ8 had brake pads that felt like they were made of wood. A set of CL SBK pads changed that real quick. I also did spiegler steel braided lines too but the biggest improvement was by far the pads.
