This is a wonderful comparison. Thank you. I do think people make a mistake trying to say one is "better"....they are all amazing and unique in their own way. And playing them all together , one can certainly create some really wonderful compositions. I currently have a number of Vasts and handpans and am now looking into getting a moon. I love the ethereal sustain. Great possibilities.

Thanks for this comparison as I'm getting ready to take my first venture in to a RAV. I'm currently watching as many of your uploads (as well as others) to get a sense of the instruments and what the players in the community are advising. I would like to chime in on what you spoke about concerning sustain in the RAV Moon. As someone who plays Native American flute, each and every instrument is different and unique. I have various flutes and they want to be handled different. Some take a gentle breath while others sing with strong breaths. Adapting to the individual instrument is key. I look forward to more of your comparison videos.

Wholeheartedly agree! I have about 7 years of material to check out on them, so do look at the playlists for a bit more a concise look. I have been working with rav as a Sponsored artist for about 5 years, so have had a chance to play every scale! Lots of reviews on Ravs page and mine to check out. Best of luck my friend!

Hi there, thanks for the comparison but I have a different reply. I have four handpans and was considering getting a Rav Vast or Moon to join my group. I have a D Celtic handpan and watched this comparison to see how the Rav products compared to my most familiar handpan. I concluded that I need to listen to lots of other scales of Rav products before deciding. I am very interested in learning the Irish sounding piece you played however and wondered if you could direct me to a source where I could learn that. I would greatly appreciate that. Thanks for all your work.

Hi Ricky, Which Rav would you recommend to someone completely new to the instrument? I am a piano player, but have no experience with either Handpan or tongue drum. I adore the sound of the Moon, but feel that I could develop a lot more technique using the Vast. I also have the option of purchasing a frog drum which is in stock within my country (Australia), whilst the Rav moon would need to be ordered. What’s your recommendation? I’d love some advice! Thank you 😊

I'm a tabla-player as well and got my Moon Celtic about a month ago. I love my two Vast as well, which I bought few weeks earlier, but the Moon fits me better because the tongues are closer together and hitting wrong note is less obvious than with the Vast. If I'm buying another tongue-drum in Vast-size, I will go with a YW Pulsar and 15 tongues. I already ordered one of Yudin's 'Tonedrum', slightly smaller than the Moon with 11 tongues and up to 17 if customizing it as a Pulsar Mini.

@@ReWildYourSoul and don't get me wrong, the sustain is great. I can't help but think that one could just insert a small rubber stopper in between the tongue and it would shorten the sustain. it would be cheap and possibly the closest thing to a handpan that would never need tuning. cheers
