I recently moved house and found lots of succulents which I didn't really like. Then I found your vlogs on youtube and you have converted me. I started rescuing and repotting and creating new arrangements, so I think I am hooked. Now I am trying to learn the names of the different plants. Thanks for all the inspiration. I love your easy going ways you make things seem possible to a succulent beginner.

I am a new subscriber as of a couple days ago and I am obsessed with how simple you make it seem. I asked friends for advice because I want to start a succulent garden, and the one who has tons of succulents makes it seems so hard. I think low key she doesn’t want to help.

Awesome! I love your quick approach to cleaning up a pot. I didn't realize that if you toss aside the original pot that you trimmed up that it'll regenerate. Thanks so much, this gives me the courage to go in and clean up a pot that my roommate gave me. I'm new to succulents and they've quickly grown on me. 😄 Also, I'm in Nor Cal.

I'm so jealous of your "land of milk and honey" growing conditions! I live in Central Florida and it has rained every day this month. I'm so worried about my succulent arrangements getting rot. Would you consider doing a video about how to plant up an arrangement to be rain resilient? I would greatly appreciate your advice. Love your videos!

We get a lot of rain in Texas as well, but I leave most of my succulents outside. The secret is the soil. If you add enough sand and perlite to the soil (30% of each), it will drain and dry fast enough that you won't have to worry about the succulents being overwatered. When we have 30-40 degree weather in zone 8b, I cover them with a frost blanket at night. Hope this experience helps you.

Wow, that is gorgeous! I've got a sticks on fire--it's rather small and I'm doing my best to keep it out of rain and in as much bright sunlight as I can get in Maryland. it's a bit big for my succulent bowl tapestry, but I may try to clip off a stalk and plant it in there when it comes time to cut the other succulents back.

I use regular potting soil too and have wonderful luck. I don't understand why so many are so set about using all this complicated stuff. I just make sure I have alot of draining holes. But I planted a little over a month ago. And they are growing like crazy. Like i think I might need to get in there and get bigger pots. It's insane how fast its getting out of control. And the soil is the same as you just used.. But i also only water my 2 times a month. I think people are having issues because they water to much.

Recently found you channel AND I LOVE IT!!! Your knowledge, information and talent is so inspiring. Thank you very much for sharing all of this❣️❣️❣️ One thing I have noticed, compared to other videos I watch, and I watch a lot, is that you are difficult to hear. I have my volume turned up all the way, which I normally do not have to do with other videos. Possibly there is something you could do to remedy this? It can be very frustrating as a listener. Either way though, I will continue to watch and learn from you. Again, thank you for your videos! ‼️❣️‼️

Hi there! I’m about to go out this week and do the same thing to my planters... I’ve always used the wrinkles as a way of knowing when to water my established plants. My question is, if your fresh cutting end up wrinkling due to regenerating new roots - how do you know when to water them?

Hi Laura, I just came across your video and subscribed, you have a plant on either side of your yard in the video (you see it at 14:25 ) it's tall and lanky with dark red leaves, I've been trying to find out the name of that plant/tree. I live in So. Cal. too Ventura County. Thanks for any info.

Your videos are awesome! I’m in New England, my outdoor succs are starting to get spider mite webs. Do you deal w that in CA? And if so, what do you generally do about it for treatment, or just ignore it??? I’ll need to bring the survivors in for Fall/cold winter months and don’t want a contagion to be indoor plants. Tips appreciated 🙏🏻💖

I have enjoyed and learned a lot from your videos, which I have been watching for the past couple of years. I am from Canada and work with succulents in our greenhouse, and your information has helped a lot. The question I have is about Aeoniums. You frequently talk about the summer dormant period in summer. I am trying to figure out how that reflects on our climate in Canada as I do not notice a dormant period. They perform very well in our summer months and we can have some very hot summers. We keep them overwinter in our greenhouse and they seem to be somewhat dormant during that time, although I also thought is was because we deliberately do not water them for some of the winter months and start again in early February as we prepare for the spring season. Do you have any information about this?
