In this version there's a pile of notes added to it. When I play it (albeit badly) it sounds closer to the violin version which is what I suspect what you're used to as well. This version is harder but doesnt sound as nice IMO

Because what happened at the end of Brotherhood (which was a happy ending) didn't fit with the song. The song Brothers is about how sorry both brothers are for burdening each other with their mistakes. At the end of Brotherhood, Al got his body back, and Ed got his arm back. So the song didn't fit.
