I saw Down in 2008 and Rex was great onstage. Hell the whole band was absolutely fantastic. He will always be a legend in my eyes. But yeah, alcohol can fuck you up.

To go as hard is that band did for as long as they did it's amazing the dude still is alive. Both Pantera and Down went a 1000% on anything and everything they did. Down II was recorded in 28 days with all of the members completely out of their minds on everything and anything you can think of.

In Rex's book, he stated that he "can't even touch that chronic shit anymore." And now he's using it medically. Good for him, I guess.
