It’s nice to see how one numerically small part of Darth Sidious’ plan to rule over the Galaxy kept popping up to bite Sidious in the ass and take part in his eventual overthrow. I am an avid and long time fan of the original Star Wars.. (I remember seeing return of the jedi in the theaters in 83).. I never knew rex, or at the time before the clone wars were a movie or animation, the rebel soldier putting on the scout trooper armor. Fascinating to see that in return of the Jedi. @@ehleeinn9743 The Rebels weren't exactly able to turn down those willing to fight the empire with them. According to Rogue One, Andor had been fighting the Empire since he was six, so seeing an old man in the ranks isn't too much of a surprise. Jedi fought well into old age, same for Sith, Separatists, Republic, Empire... Hell ALL of the factions had troops of the entire spectrum of age when you think about it. Lol

Even when I saw the others following them it never clicked that they brought a whole platoon or something with them. Until much later and even then it wasn't some sort of big realization, I just thought and those are their troops following behind them. I never even noticed the old man trying to disguise himself as a scout trooper until this video pointed it out. Truly that IS the right way to retcon something.

I'm not gonna lie I teared up when he mentioned how anakin finished the fight and how Rex fulfilled his duty in protecting the republic. There's something to be said about the noble hearts of clones. Born slaves and stripped of their free will. In the end they were instrumental in restoring the republic.
