I do agree that they had to know something. Especially the wife. I'm sure Rexs sex drive and the things that he may have asked her to do raised some red flags. But they all had to have known something was off...I definitely do NOT believe they had a clue about the depth of what the ogre was up to. I wish them nothing but the best... she/they dont deserve this! Their home is torn to pieces even down to someone unfolding their underwear during the search. They must feel violated. They can't go anywhere. What a horrible situation. However, not as horrible as her realizing that she's been sleeping beside a murderer. Imagine realizing that. That at least 1 time, he touched her with the 1 of the girls dna on his hands. Held his hand right after he put his hands around someone's neck and most likely looked them straight in the eye while they struggled for their last breath. How could someone do that? Do you all think that Shannon may have walked up on Rex the Ogre while he was dumping something/someone? On August 1st, will they tell more evidence that they've found? Or what is the purpose of those proceedings?

As a hunter myself, i absolutely know MANY places where people just dont really go. If i were to hide a body, it would be in those places. Also we are adept at concealment, and can move unnoticed by others with ease. If investigators can get ahold of maps, gps or cell data from known hunting trips, searching those areas would be a good idea. As a hunter its easy to navigate animal trails, and KNOW of any other people have used them. The animal trails go for miles. He could easily have brought bodies into thesec areas, packing them in like a deer carcass, while seemingly vanishing into the forest. Searching these areas are likely fruitful for investigators. They could track down hunting oartners or location data to find the areas he hunts. Then think, "if i want to hide from people or animals, where would i do so?" And then look in those areas. Behind cover, fallen trees, natural dips in terrain and areas with a good vantage point.

Ogres were known to eat children, especially at night, while in bed. They are known to be red or green and one other color. Those who have a connection with emotional crimes (sexually- related murders, for instance) must be close to exploding to tell someone. Imagine keeping it a secret that no one knows but you? Not all, but many crimes are resolved because the perpetrators couldn’t keep their yaps shut. What’s the point of committing these glorious, horrendous crimes if you can’t share the wealth with a “fan club?” The “pride” in committing serial murders of prostitutes must just seethe inside to blurt it out if your a Heuermann or Kohberger- cat and mouse four level chess.

I'm sorry but I have know men that have hunted for the pleasure of hunting and just to collect the feet and heads of animals. They then donated the meat to charities to cook for Wild Game Dinners. I have a neighbor who also hunts just for the pleasure. He does use the meat but he mounts the animals and display them in his house to show what he has killed. In this day I don't believe most people hunt just because they need the food, they all seem to enjoy it. Our local country newspapers actually publish pictures of people with their kills. I find it disgusting but other people find it enjoyable.

Yes, that is a lot. Firearm ownership is common especially in the politically conservative states, but that number of firearms would be unusual except for a collector or perhaps for someone who competes in many different kinds of shooting matches and is also somewhat a collector. (I own several, btw.) Also, firearm laws vary greatly from state to state in the USA. New York City is generally very restrictive especially for handguns.

@@suzymoroka297 it's very unusual for someone to own 279 firearms even in the more firearm-friendly states. (New York City is not considered very firearm-friendly, and firearm laws vary greatly from state to state and sometimes by city.) But yes, we do have our Second Amendment to the Constitution, and we like having the right to own firearms, whether for recreational target shooting, competition, hunting, and especially for self defense if needed, or as a collector. The vast majority of firearm owners are law abiding citizens. Firearm ownership is common, but not in those numbers except perhaps for a collector, and even then it would be rare to own that many. I am a firearm owner, btw. If a Ted Bundy clone breaks into my home in the middle of the night, hitting him with my purse wouldn't be very effective.

I think he drove his bodies because they were all dumped along the stretch of road, not dotted unevenly around the edges of water like you’d expect with a boat, because why would you carry the body through the thick brush to near the road when there is less chance of discovery deeper in the thickets? Heuermann might be big, and by default reasonably strong, but he doesn’t look like a man who has worked out for the muscle strength and endurance to lug bodies long distances. Duck hunting (and bear hunting) is about waiting in a hide (that patience thing), not climbing mountains like hunting chamois and tahr, so not like his hobbies leant to exceptional strength and endurance. There is a practicality of targeting petite women in terms of strength disparity, but also in terms of weight moving for disposal. Regardless, I’d be interested in his mother’s physique, whether she was a petite woman too?

@@hollymartinson-ui1ks Some folks get a kick out of extreme sexual dimorphism pairing. Not all extremely tall men have tall mothers, some have very small mothers. If it’s modelled this way in his family, it might not be quite so aberrant in him psychologically, just a familial pattern, if not, then we can probably tend to thinking this is more aberrant.

@@incendiary1 That’s certainly a possibility, but not a foregone conclusion. He searched for fat child as a search term, not sure we have seen that play out yet in his victims so far, not to mention other of his search terms. His wife, soon to be ex-wife, is presumably quite short when you compare her height to their children. And we can probably guess her weight is simply middle age spread, so she quite probably fit his predilection at the time of marriage. She had a 7 year old son at the time so probably didn’t come across as childlike.

Based on the little bit we know so far, I too see a similarity between Rex and Gacy. However, Gacy's father abused and humiliated him; we don't know anything about Rex's dad yet (or minimal).

@@GrizzlyTrueCrime true but we do know Rex’s dad made it no secret he was disappointed with Rex for being passive, loner, low self esteem and odd and his dads dissatisfaction with him is still a rejection trauma. Makes me nuts how some dads bully their own kids and wonder why they odd balls. The father rejection makes all those symptoms he had as a kid worse. I know I had a rejecting abusive father growing up. But I never became a killer and now in old age my dad is nice- it’s weird being around him now I keep waiting for the shoe to drop with him 😂

Tobay beach is the beach for those living in Town of Oyster Bay (TOBay), including Massapequa Park. In the 1980’s, Berner High School teenagers with cars could drive to Tobay; those without cars took the bus or road their bikes to Jones Beach. As for All American Burger, teenagers from both high schools went there, not just “the jocks.” Best French fries on the Island.

If they have DNA in Alaska for a murder victim chances are he will be matched to it once they release his DNA into the database. Just a hunch that he killed there. As far as his wife goes, I feel bad for her. People gawking have no conscious and/or manners IMO. It’s always bothered me that people do that stuff to others. Treat others as you would want to be treated. Perspective matters.

In all fairness, this is an interview about Architecture, he seems very proud of his work and having to deal with the building department in NYC, all the codes, all the entangled processes you need to endure, I can understand. Also, many colleges reach out to companies for speakers, or people to interview in a specific field, why he was chosen could be as simple as his alumni having reached out to him for it. Agreed, his choice of words may seem cryptic however, that is now that we have knowledge of his "alleged" crimes. He is boastful, but that interview was a marketing opportunity.
@GrizzlyTrueCrime
@GrizzlyTrueCrime Жыл бұрын
Not trying to make it cryptic. Based on his Google searches and how his first question was "is it in the news?" once arrested, I hypothesized that he may have had his own double meaning to what he was saying. Few will be surprised if it turns out that the interviewer was sent in by LE; unlikely but let's wait and see.

Honestly? It's been interesting watching commentary from non New Yorkers. I've worked adjacent to his office. 5th Ave or not, that area is actually kind of the blue collar version, a culture and glamor dessert where people who are NOT the glamorous go to work. Used to be known for all the escort agencies in the area, lol. This is where those who are hustling, working it, but "twixt and between" as we would say work. And, I hate to say it, but he is such a long island/city beurocrat "type." Don't underestimate the level of cronyism and grift, the mafia-esque backroom deals and sketchiness of being in real estate and working with institutions he did. Also, the LI culture of that area...very specific,...he's a definite type.
