Gisela I don’t know if you’ll see this comment but I wanted to mention that back when they first found the GB4 in the first week or so the families would come to the gravesites on Ocean Parkway to hold vigils. They put up crosses for each girl with their birthdays and dates their bodies were found and left teddy bears and balloons in tribute to them. But someone came seemingly overnight and left these creepy “time out dolls” on their crosses. They’re these weird dolls that are supposed to represent naughty children hiding their faces in a corner or against a wall. It was very menacing looking and not at all like the regular toys left for the girls. I was SHOCKED when I saw the CSI team recover a doll similar in size. I am so curious if they found anything related to these “time out dolls” in his house. The show Dark Minds aired an episode on LISK and they covered the creepy dolls at the gravesites! I posted a short on my channel showing the dolls on the gravesite crosses if you want to see what they looked like.

If Heuermann’s web history shows he googled the Gilgo case over 200 times, he may have similarly fixated on other cases he’s connected to. Repeated searches for the Eastbound Strangler or particular missing persons may have already implicated him to LE - we just haven’t heard about it yet.

You're exhibiting what is known as "survivor bias." Just because it didn't happen to you doesn't mean it didn't happen. The fact is, we know childhood traumas and abuse can cause psychosis. That's a real phenomenon that's been studied for over a century and it's included in psychology manuals and even used in FBI profiling. Your ability to overcome a similar childhood simply means that you lack the other elements it takes to become a psychopath.

My husband carried on a four year long affair, brought the woman in my home to hold my newborn baby, took her on vacation etc. all while we were married, and I had to literally no idea. Great coverage, G. Have you seen the TED talk by the Stanford professor who studied brain scans of psychopathic killers? He did his own brain scan, then did genetic testing, and realized he was also a psychopath. 😮 He said three things make serial killers: 1) brain anomaly (someone can be born with this, or it can be a brain injury) 2) “warrior genes” 3) childhood abuse. Without number 3, the person won’t be a serial killer, just a psychopath. Anyway, that guy’s demeanor is JUST like Rex’s!! It’s worth a watch.

There are cases of wealthy cold killers who never were abused they just don´t have human empathy. They see people like beneath them , objects ,useless eaters, diseased parasites -whatever is their justification, they are not wired as we are but they also come in all shapes, formats and financial backgrounds. I believe there are more upper class psychos but we just don´t know because they are connected and get away easily or pin on patsys.

Gisela-another top notch presentation by you-thanks! Frankly I've been following this case since the beginning and had pretty much given up on it ever being solved. I'm still stunned that they've made the arrest. Great work by the newest task force after years of very questionable work due to the corruption by the Suffolk Co. PD. When they refused FBI help early on that was a red flag for me. I had no idea that they finally released Megan Waterman's footage at the hotel until a few days ago when the algorithm here suggested it. I never knew there WAS footage of her there, always felt that the killer might be on it. I thought the tall, sort of lumbering guy does look similar to Heuermann-has the same nose and eyebrows, but it really is a grainy vid. So this guy has two storage spaces as well as his home and then the other property in North Carolina-God, what are they going to find? Woah...I have a strong feeling they are going to find some trophies. Well, there goes the theory I had of him being meticulous and cunning, it appears he was just lucky and technological advances sealed his fate. Glad that he was sloppy and transferred his wife's hairs on the remains of the 3 victims. Never thought he'd be married and have kids for some reason. They did release that it was camo hunting burlap that he used, that was the first time that was mentioned. Keep up the great work!

There is a good reason for families not knowing: the basement has probably always been full of boxes and furniture parts (hardware); he probably has a separate freezer for his hunting “kills” and if there is a smell, it is probably blamed on the taxidermy. He probably is controlling and won’t allow anyone to touch his parts. The garage is probably also full of boxes. Plus he had a hidden room full of weapons and the others probably didn’t want to go there. Plus he worked for himself so he probably often had overtime.

Yikes! I grew up in Massapequa Park, not far from where Rex lives and went to the same HS he attended😱 I’ve hung out at Ocean and Jones Beaches, too. This hits very close for me!

Thank you, Mike, for the excellent footage, how does it feel actually being there in person? It looks so surreal

I’m from Nassau County, you said it right the first time 👍🏻 Great presentation. As a local, the Gilgo murders have haunted the island for a while. Happy it’s finally coming to and end.

His wife must feel so betrayed like she never knew him, poor woman 😢

It must be terrifying after the fact. You'd question everything, wouldn't you? I wonder if she was a prop to him, that being married would help with the 'normal family man' disguise? Just awful 😔

@@openorwap5412well he was married to someone else before this 22-25 year marriage. Some SKs are able to have committed families and keep the double life going and the love was somehow real, or real-esque. Ridgeway. D'Angelo. Maybe these 2 became too strangers but I kind of doubt it was a prop situation for him. All depends on a lot more info, including when he REALLY started committing crimes

Hi Gisela. New sub. So far you seem to have the most complete information altogether neatly listed. I did wonder if his name is German, thank you for the pronunciation. Nassau is pronounced NASS°aww or NA°saw. A lot of misplaced focus from many commenters on the web, I feel. Since this was his parents' home, naturally there may still be remnants of his childhood life or his parents' belongings behind. The glass case doll, women his mothers age and younger did collect those sorts of things years ago. No matter what American tells you different, it is not "of the norm" to have 92 gun permits or own that many in a home, let alone 300. Yes in some parts of US, hunters may own a ton, but if he's the only one who uses the guns, 92 or 300 for just 1 man? That's obsessive and collections like that are NOT American, no matter what gun nut tries to say otherwise. A ton of my country do not own a single gun or permit. Some do and some don't, but it's not a staple of Americana or anything. The thing that I would understand more is if his father's old guns were also still in that home. His mum may even be a rifle owner and they just kept it stored in the old home. They may have never cleared that home out after he and A moved into this home. It will be disturbing if he owns and bought all 92-300 guns himself. That's just nutbar-talk for any American. Hunting or not, collector or not, if this was a hidden room and his own family didn't know about it, he has a lot up his sleeve. Again I note that some of the belongings very well could have been there since his and his brothers childhood, belonging to his parents. Thanks for the hard work gathering info. Glad to be a new sub. I like the way you present the info fairly neutrally 😊

Thank you, I wanted to hear about this but I’d avoided it altogether because it was, well just to much for me. This format helps me keep in the loop without allowing myself to get to involved 😅

Hey G, missed this live watching on the replay, but I did say as soon as I saw him, he gave me Gacey vibes and more than a passing resemblence to Gacey (it's in the eyes) .
