Arcadz So often people put pressure on themselves by feeling the need to analyze and critique and question every thought and emotion and belief they have. Humans are complex and it can be exhausting and frustrating to try to understand even our own mind. Like many, after years of personally experiencing that, when I heard “I don’t think I’m meant to understand myself,” it was like this unexpected moment of finally realizing “you know what, maybe we’re not even supposed to understand ourselves after all, and just accept the fact that we can go on without the complete knowledge of who are at all times.” It is a scary thought, the absence of 100% truth, the absence of a fully-formed identity, but at the same time it is liberating, freeing to not have to worry about putting yourself into a box and understanding everything at every waking moment.

I kinda understand things better now though, from the perspective of someone who’s gone through infinitely more shit than i thought i would ever have to go through.

The orchestral part makes me tear up, but I'm also just in awe of the humble, youthful wisdom of the lyrics. Understanding that there are so many things you don't understand yet, while being aware of what it is you don't understand. That is impressive emotional maturity. And the song is so romantic it is almost painful. I'm so glad I finally found it. I have heard the orchestra part in so many videos but people never credit the artist when they make their shorts so it's taken me well over a year before I found the song.

This is the one song that always gives me end of year vibes. It always makes me sad knowing we're maturing. I'm 22 but I feel that time is going by too fast 😢. Life was never same after graduating high school in 2020. Sometimes I wish I went back to when I was in elementary (or heck even the 1990s when life was a tad bit simpler). I would say the 1930s but conveniences were't rhere that we have now.

This song makes me feel like im growing up, and it makes me look back on all of the memories, the good and the bad, and it’s such an amazing feeling. It’s a mix between happy and sad. It makes me feel like I’m growing up and away from what I know, and it’s a scary and amazing feeling at the same time. Do ya know what i mean?

Lyrics ✨ [Verse 1] The great protector Is that what I'm supposed to be? What if all this counts for nothing Everything I thought I'd be? What if by the time I realize It's too far behind to see? Seventy-mil projector I can show you everything, yeah And we're on our way to glory Where the show won't ever end And the encore lasts forever And it's time we're due to spend [Verse 2] Spending the years together Growing older every day (Every day) I feel at home when I'm around you And I'll gladly say again I hope the encore lasts forever Now there's time for us to spend And it's sublime with you, my friend This right here still feels like a honeymoon When you say my name, nothing's changed I'm still a boy inside my thoughts Am I meant to understand my faults? [Chorus] I don't think so I don't think I'm meant to understand myself Maybe you do And that's good for you Maybe in time Maybe one day I'll do the same (I'll do the same I'll do the same I'll do the same) [Bridge] I'll do the same as you I'll try and hold it up Soon I hope Or as soon as I'm old enough (Old enough to understand Old enough to understand) [Outro] Stay forever, you know more than anyone (Yeah, whoa) And it's you that knows my darkness And you know my bedroom needs You could blast me and my secrets But there's probably just no need -Pluto Projector

I’m here based on a suggestion from son, who’s 25. We’d been texting about how a lot of artists I grew up are dying out and it’s kind of sad. I’m 55. He told me “I think music is in the best spot it’s been in for a long time. There are so many good artists and bands. Genre bending.” And I told him Like most things today, there's just a huge eclectic choice for everything. You have to search a little more for what you like. But there's definitely something out there for everyone. And he’s been a great source for discovering some new music. I’m not a fan of it all. I appreciate what people are bringing when it’s definitely a need to express their artistic gift. Love the tiny desk concerts,. Even listened to some Mac Miller, which to be honest I can’t stand rapping. But he had a few tunes and his great performance on Stephen Colbert were amazing. So let me end this ramble with this. And take this from an “old” guy who loves the craft of making music, support those that make music. Especially those who who sing without “help” and voice modulation. Support bands that actually play instruments and do the unthinkable where they actually sit in a room together and play. I’m not afraid of technology. I just don’t want to see the real, truthful process of music die out. That’s it. Peace.

In 2021, I lost my aunt from breast cancer. I held her hand as she passed and it sent me into a deep depression at the end of my junior year of high school. Of course, life moved on as it does but almost exactly a year later, I discovered this song and it was the first time I felt as if she was still here with me and there was weight lifted on my shoulders. I’m in my 3rd year of college studying film and writing a show in her honor. No matter how long it’s been since I’ve last seen her, she somehow still gets me through life

Every time I listen to this song, I think of all my time in high school so far, my boyfriend, and the fact that I graduate in two years. I’m honestly not ready but it’ll be worth it. I’m also really happy that I’ve finally found someone who makes me feel safe and happy and who loves me regardless of anything that might happen or anything that I’ve been through with any of my exs. I look at him as my boyfriend, my best friend, and the greatest person I’ve ever met. I mean the second part is literally a lyric in the song. And you would assume that’s why he used Pluto well at the very least to show the distance from whatever it may be from, doesn’t have to be from someone, it could also be from understanding himself.
