Gotta say, Rex Did a great job here for his limited powers. Despite being traumatized by the death of his allies he successfully took out Two Lizard league members by himself, and even told King lizard to "Just do it" after he pointed a gun at him. Gotta hand it to rex, he's far more mature then he lets on and his character development is brilliant.

It's more bad timing than anything in favour of the lizard league. I actually like how it turned out in the show as well, think about it all the heavy hitters were assigned to go to space at the worst possible time for Rex Duplicate and shrinking ray/rae. I love that sense of unpredictableness in the comics, and it's translated well in the show too. If they had aleast least one of the volunteers who went to space stay behind than they would've been enough to make a difference.

This whole scene served to show how Mark was wrong when he said that the world doesn't need him. With somebody at his level this fight would have been entirely different. This world needs him, and this scene showed exactly why. Even joke-level villains will gruesomely murder low level heroes.

Okay, the main reason they failed was because Rex Splode and Dupli-Kate were fighting opponents that weren't a good match for them. Rex is a medium-range fighter, so his abilities would have been a better match for the slower Komodo Dragon. Dupli-Kate is a close-in fighter, so she would have been a better match for Iguana. Having a ranged fighter going against an agile melee fighter and pairing a melee fighter with normal human strength fagainst a super-strong tank is just begging for a massacre.

@@_Cetarial I think weak is a poor choice of words. Though this was 100% a bad match up for a typical super hero fight. Nobody on the hero team had a good non-lethal way to take out Kimodo dragon. Shrinking ray would have had the best chance if she could get access to his inner ear cannel but his masked stopped ear access. Rexsplode could hurt him but to do so non-lethally would have been very hard. That left Duplikate to try and overwelm him with numbers. Its still a bad match up but its the best they had for the non-lethal route. Ya they could have won with no losses if they used lethal force to start but A) There was nobody experienced enough on this team to make that call. B) Even if Cecial told them to use lethal force before hand they probably wouldn't have until kated died anyways. They're heros they don't kill unless they have too. The Lizard league is known to suck and all these heros are pretty young. C) This is more Cecial fault then theirs. I love Cecial i think he a great character but loads of people who went on space mission shouldn't have for this exact reason. Even if they were all needed Cecial couldn't find them any backup or equipment? Main point is I think these characters where great and I'm going to miss them.

She did. You never see the "original" she never leaves her safe house, and nobody else knows about it. She feels the broken bones , traumatic injuries and their deaths and this was a really bad fight , so she's curled up in a ball sobbing hysterically and will let the World think she's dead. She'll come back to Immortal after she's had time to get her head back on straight.

I blame Rex, Kate and Rae for their own demise. Their powers are amazing but they just go there and punch people: - Give DupliKate a sword/knife and EVERY copy of her would be armed. - If Shrinking Rae whole shtick is that she can be deadly by going inside people... then give her a fcking blade or explosives! - And Rex, who is basically Gambit, why does he just throw coins? At least Gambit knows a few card tricks that gives him better edge..

It was very much doable. The komodo man hard carried the lizard team, if they actually scouted that dude out first and had a genuine plan it was doable. However, it would rely on Rex striking his hard hitting abilities on him to quickly get rid of him before moving to the fodder.

They were being poorly led. Kate should have spammed clones to tie up Iguana and Salamander while Rex and Rae took down Komodo Dragon. Rae already showed she was capable of beating a super-strong opponent, and with Rex distracting him she would have been able to get into his ear and incapacitate him. Then they mop up the other two. What this scene showed is that they fall apart without good leadership.

@@blacky8987 Also an okay tactic, but Rae's powers would let her reliably and quickly take him down if she can just get to his head without him noticing, as we saw during the Guardian tryouts. Rex actually has the power to kill Komodo Dragon outright if he lets loose with his explosive powers, but he has to be careful because a blast strong enough to disable or kill Komodo Dragon would probably wreck the building and hurt or kill he allies. Generating explosions really isn't a great power for super-hero because there is so much potential collateral damage. Komodo Dragon doesn't have to hold back at all, and Rex does, so he's at a serious disadvantage.
