I originally had a Sentry but I had issues doing a head shave with it. I traded it in for a Konsul and now I am hooked. Great shaver. I heard the Sentry is the Konsul on setting 4. I use 3 or 4 for my face and 2 for my head. It's become my best shaver. I agree on the blades. If I didn't already have 300 or so Permasharps I'd buy a 100 Rex Blades. I may anyhow. #1. I LOVE the idea of being in a desestered, Shining-style, hotel restaurant setting. I don't know if you got the memo but, I am thought of as being a little strange.... #2. As previously stated, I don't have Rex anything but I have a very similar blade experience with a certain No Name razor brand, sold at discount stores. As it happens, I recently acquired a USSR razor that is the absolute perfect complement to those blades. I think my experience was/is identical to your situation in this video. #3. A shared bathroom in the next one, eh'?...Who said Dantes' Gates of Hell only exist in a book?😅

Great shave Brother! Seems like the bathrooms get better as you get to a new location. Although the shared one might be a bit awkward haha I’m thinking the Sentry XL might be the razor I’d like most from Rex, so I’m gonna wait till Black Friday and see if there’s a sale. Very good Sig! I think you're right, it's a combination. I think you got the angle right and from what I've been hearing the blade is not as sharp as a Wizamet and maybe not as wide. What I mean is that you are getting a little more exposure with the Wizamet and it make the razor more bitey. That's just some guessing on my part though as I haven't used their blade yet and haven't taken measurements. Some razors it does take some time to get a feel for as I'm still getting a feel for the Leszy. I haven't had any rough shaves, but I'm not getting as much efficiency as I know it has. Probably an angle thing. It would be odd to be in a hotel with nobody there-lol! Sounds like something from a horror movie from the 80's! Have a good trip bro!

I wish my Rex Ambassador was as smooth as you say the Sentry is. I've never understood why a blade would make such a big difference. My theory (and it's probably wrong) is that when a safety razor needs a certain blade to give a great shave, there must be something deficient with the razor. For example, with my Rockwell 6S, I get the same "perfectamundo" shave with all of my favorite blades, the Gillette Nacet, the Astra Green, the Personna, Lab Blue, the Wilkinson Sword (India), Gillette Silver Blue, and even the My Blade. The only difference is durability. Some blades last for 3 shaves with no performance degradation while others last for 5 or more. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how the Konsul performs.

@@SIGSOLO It's Good to know that I'm not alone when it comes to blades and safety razors. Some wet shavers say if you want a more "aggressive/efficient" shave with a particular safety razor, then change the blade. I've never experienced that. If I want a more efficient shave, I use a different safety razor, or in the case of the 6S I use a higher-numbered plate.
