Well, that's a whole lot of ladder testing. Bring an ice chest with ya. Also, using a Labradar, I picked up the JKL Precision Labradar Trigger and that has completely eliminated any errors in my tests. Best $35 bucks I've spent in a long time.

Great video. One thing to take into consideration is that what your going to find is the best load for your rifle, not the best load for your press and rifle combination. I really do like the way you did this but it would probably be a good idea to compare the best powders you find this way to how the dillon powder measure throws them. Im sure you could find a sweet 223 load that throws consistently in the dillon measure. That would speed you up quite a bit.

Rex, I was driving down 169 last weekend and I couldn't help think "I bet Rex is still out there testing that ladder!" I hope it's going well and I look forward to your next video.

Rex, it’s always a delight to watch another reloading video from you as regards both content & presentation. I’m in the UK & suffer from the addiction of collecting, using & where possible improving reloading tools of all ages (you may be familiar with this condition I think). Aside from your current .223 series I’m sure I’m not alone in hoping you may be able to do a video or two on some of the classic equipment from the 1930’s - 70’s to go along with your Hollywood press series. Regards Russell

Thank you so much for your kind words. I would also suggest you watch videos from (in absolutely no particular order) gavintoobe, Panhandle Precision, 6.5 guys, iraqveteran8888, Eagle Eye Shooting, neutered10mm, Johnny's Reloading Bench, Katharina Vikør, and FortuneCookie45LC. And to the many other fine reloading channels out there, my sincere apologies for leaving you out.

Hi Rex, did you ever make it to the range and test the low development for the 223? I'm thinking about buying my first press, you are teaching me a lot. I appreciated.

Great video, Rex. I prefer doing load development on my single stage or running one piece of brass at a time through my 550. I'm always weary of press stretch when doing development. Looks like you've got a solid method for your 1050. 360 rounds for 223 development is a significant undertaking, but you are well equipped for the task. I totally agree with the statistical significance of 10 round ladders versus 5. Don't worry about the video delays; it's supposed to be fun. Take your time and do what you like. Thanks again for the quality content!

Thank you for your comments and patience. It became a kind of challenge to see if there were any remotely practical way to do load development on the 1050. It will also be a challenge to shoot all of these.

Can't wait to see what you come up with Rex. Waiting on my new Super 1060 to get here and looking at what all I want to go with. Mainly will be loading 9mm, 223/556 and 30-30, maybe more as time goes along. de W4GLE in West Central AL.

It's always interesting to see what people load on their Dillons beyond 9mm, .223 and .308. I love it when a 125 year old cartridge is a choice. That part of Alabama has you surrounded by Crimson Tide fans. You need to move over her to God's Country near Auburn. War Eagle backatcha!

@@RexRoach I love it over here. I am surrounded, but I love aggravating them Nasty CT Fans, LOL! Especially the wife and family. Must not have noticed, but W4GLE is my Ham Radio Callsign, GLE is my initials. People that are not familiar with Ham Radio always think the W4GLE stands for War Eagle, LOL! de (From) W4GLE ;-)

Rex - When you are at the range and you are shooting your test series do you use a sled and crono to take some of the "human factor" out of it?
@RexRoach

A sled would be nice. I don't have one but use a pretty good benchrest style front rest and rear sandbag(s). My chronograph is a LabRadar model.
