@@the_narthex Honestly I disagree, Direct continuations of movie monster stories are pretty terrible, They tried to do that in the existing jaws series and we ended up with a roaring shark motivated by revenge, A prequel would not have any stakes since you know exactly where the shark is gonna end up and that absolutely nothing the humans do will threaten or hurt it, Instead why not just do another shark movie or make a jaws movie with a large croc as the monster, They don't have to make it a serial franchise like its friday the 13th, It's too late now but I think they sidestepped by not varying up locations and creatures

Things I noticed: 1] "Mako", titled with the name of the world's fastest shark (very recognizable), uses TIGER sharks to represent the monster. 2] One of the Italian films, though I can't recall which one, has a shot that reminds me of the ending of the movie "The Meg", when Jason Statham's character slices open the creature's belly. I don't think it's a coincidence. And 3] "This thing was designed by a future Oscar-winner. This is created by the same guy that made Gizmo and the Brundel-Fly. This thing." That moment actually made me burst into a giggle-fit. The so-called "shark" looks more like a genetically-mutated mudskipper!

Of the movies in this video, I've seen Mako: Jaws of Death, Monster Shark, Shark Kill, and The Last Shark. If I remember right, I saw Mako and Monster Shark (aired as Devil Fish) on late night movie shows sometime in the 80s when I was a kid. Shark Kill I saw on some afternoon movie show in April 1988. I remember it because it was Easter weekend, and that Friday night we'd recorded Jaws 2 on ABC (we'd just gotten our first VCR that previous Christmas). I actually still have The Last Shark saved somewhere from when I downloaded it off KZbin. Gotta love how the mayor is hanging off the skids of the helicopter, and his legs magically swing into the shark's mouth. And he's got such a grip on the skids that he is still hanging on when his legs get ripped off.

Jaws clones makes me imagine that they do a Jaws reboot film. It's a sequel but obviously, they have to just call it Jaws. 12 Days of Terror isn’t a rip-off. It’s telling the story of the 1916 Shark Attacks in New Jersey. I know those events were mentioned in Jaws and seems to even mimic those events with the number of people attacked in the film, but this film doesn’t deserve to be on the list, since it’s pretty good, especially for a TV movie, as well as not really ripping off Jaws. The only thing the films have in common are they’re both shark movies that take place in the summer.
